Video footage has been released about the robbery of the AR15-type firearm stolen at Clay’s Wellston Food Market on May 27, 2022, at about 14:48 p.m.
Confused early reporting lead to a less than clear article published on AmmoLand. Early reporting claimed the man carrying the AR15 firearm was “open carrying”. The video does not support that claim.
Much is missing from the video shown by Fox2now.com.
The video release was to Fox2now.com. The video editing is confusing, and time stamps are often absent. This correspondent has been able to puzzle out the chain of events with a fair amount of clarity.
A white Ford Focus arrives at Clay’s Wellston Food Market at about 14:40. It backs into a parking spot in front of the store. (not shown until the end of Fox2now.com video) An associate of the man who is later shown carrying an AR15 gets out of the car and enters the store at about 14:41.
The temperature at 2:40 is about 63 degrees, so jackets are not unusual.
The AR15 Man, with the black, white, and red jacket, gets out of the car and enters the store at about 14:44. The AR15 firearm is not visible. In the entrance him from the store, he briefly opens his jacket, flashing the AR15-type firearm slung across his chest, from 14:44:02 to 14:44:04, a total of two or three seconds.
From the captured image, the barrel of the firearm is close to 8.5 inches long. The distance from the front of the magazine well to the front of the flash hider is about 4.2 magazine widths in the image. A magazine is about 2.52 inches wide.
From magwell to muzzle calculates to about 10.58 inches.

There are many screen shots from the video showing details of the gunfight.
AR-15 Man flashes firearm under jacket in vestibule of Clay's Wellston Market for two seconds.
Very detailed reporting......only thing they missed is its a BLACK GUY.
Robber sees AR15 and robs man of AR15.
Man who had AR15 accesses a handgun from a car and shoots Robber who had AR15.
The entire story, originally, was structured to discredit open carry.
As the video shows, this incident was not about open carry at all.
Typo.

It is what Massad Ayoob called “veiled exhibitionism”. You have your weapon hidden, but you want everyone to know you are carrying, so you find a way to “flash” it.
I remember several years back when open carry became again legal.
Some guy flashed his high dollar firearm, and was immediately robbed of it.
Did the perp follow all the applicable restrictions outlined by demoncrats before walking out with the weapon?
Inquiring minds want to know.

But then they’ll just try to ban them, and the next story by Dean will be the theft of AR15s from police vehicles.
Rinse, repeat.
But they will keep trying to keep them out of the hands of the lawful.
As I recall, that was changed from: In the entrance in front of the store.
How the editor changed it to the phrase published, is a mystery.
He likely did not know he was on camera.
More likely, he wanted everything to be positioned properly for the planned robbery.
Which case was that? There have only been a couple.
There have been a few cases where individuals were carrying concealed, too, and were mugged and robbed of their concealed firearm.
Dean,
While you may completely correct is your surmising that the AR15 man the the other guy and the driver were indeed part of a hold up crew, they apparently didnt rob anyone, and the “robber”/Booker is the criminal of note.
Of course, the three aren’t likely telling the police that “we was about to snatch the cash, when some guy tried to rob me of my AR pistol”; “so I lit him up”...
I would tend to think that if your assessment is correct, the three or at least some of them are prohibited types, likely incriminated by their records etc. and that may help a bit in the investigation to sort out who ought to be going to jail...
It thought it hilarious the Police department was trying to get them to come in and be witnesses to the shooting and robbery of the AR15 type firearm.
It it did not smell right.
Then, I saw the video. It was shown in disjointed segments, out of sequence.
Once it was put into sequence, it all made sense.
The marvels of modern autocorrect.
