Former President Trump on Friday criticized Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) planned trip to Taiwan, which has been condemned by China but generally praised by congressional Republicans.
Beijing has warned Pelosi against visiting the island, saying it would challenge a “red line” and will be met with “resolute countermeasures.” The Chinese government has stepped up military drills near Taiwan, which it claims sovereignty over, in the past few months.
Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social that “the China mess is the last thing she should be involved in — She will only make it worse.”
“Everything she touches,” he wrote, “turns to Chaos, Disruption, and ‘Crap.'”
Trump’s comments put him at odds with some members of his party who have commended Pelosi for seeking to defend democracy and human rights.

...this situation is a no-win one...like pulling out a fish hook that got caught in your arm....lots of voices saying “Don’t go, Nancy...you’ll just upset our masters...we don’t want that....!!” then if she backs out, the U.S. will look as if we are certainly taking orders from the ChiComs....I don’t see any other reasonable alternative(s) but for her to go.....

Someone suggested using F-22 stealth fighters to escort her plane.
I like it. The homing radars of the incoming missiles will not be distracted by the escorts.
I disagree with Trump on this.
Doesn’t bother me that he says it and Trump has reasons and strategies beyond the ostensible issue.
The Japanese had been at war for 50 years against Russia, Korea, Manchuria, China, and the US prior to the Okinawa invasion.
The Taiwanese have been in clean rooms wearing bunny suits making chips.

It really is stupid to make this trip as publicized as it is. That’s why it’s clear that it’s all an election year stunt, probably coordinated with the ChiComs.

I’ll go with Pat Buchanan on this one. Why risk American lives defending Taiwan, Ukraine, even Japan for that matter? The P.I. will fight to the last American.
How do you get the folks from India, Viet Nam, Japan, Taiwan and The P.I. together to face their common interests? Indonesia/Singapore too.

Earlier I was reading where our Armed Forces are gearing up with extra security in advance of Pelosi‘s visit. And of course in response China is also sending war ships, planes and military forces to counter our war ships, planes and military forces.
Why? Just so one stupid old broad can make yet another million dollar trip at taxpayers expense?
