Kansas Overwhelmingly Votes to Uphold Abortion ‘Rights’
Breitbart ^ | August 2, 2022 | Paul Bois

The pro-life movement suffered a defeat in Kansas on Tuesday when the state overwhelmingly voted to uphold abortion “rights.”

The vote in Kansas on Tuesday centered on whether or not the state would remove abortion rights protections in the State Constitution, potentially paving the way for “state lawmakers to pass far-reaching abortion restrictions, or even to pursue a ban,” according to the New York Times.

With 76 percent reporting, the “No” votes to keep abortion rights in place beat the “Yes” votes by double digits – 62.2 percent versus 37.7 percent as of this writing. Both NBC News and the New York Times have projected “No” as the referendum winner.

Abortion activists and Democrat lawmakers celebrated the victory.

“This is huge: abortion rights were on the ballot for the first time since Roe, and the people of Kansas voted to preserve access,” tweeted Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). “I’m grateful down to my toes for everyone who helped stop this dangerous ballot measure in its tracks.”

Liberals turned up in mass to vote ‘no’, while conservatives treated it like a usual primary election and ignored it.

Sickening. Can't believe this happened in KANSAS.

Does anyone know if this can be reversed??

We’ve got our work cut out for us, folks!

I agree. I'm certainly NOT celebrating any 2022 Red Wave just yet...

Exactly. Reading this article fires me up and I will NOT sit this one out this November! We cannot allow these degenerates to slap it back in our faces and shun us on social media. Reading these comments on this post about the red wave waning is what liberals want us to think. They think they have the advantage, but we have to come out in droves in November and tell the liberals we’re not taking their failures for the past 2 years. We need Pelosi out of office, we need Shumer to be the minority, we need to VOTE!

Very disappointing results from a red state. Judging from other comments on this thread the language was deliberately confusing, so let’s not label Kansas the new California just yet.

States choosing to codify their own abortion laws without federal interference. In other words the way it should have been since a long time ago.

States do not have the right to decide what is a person or not. Murder should be illegal in all 50 states.

Yes, the red wave is starting to look like it could be a blue wave.

The language of this referendum was intentionally misleading. Many pro-life voters likely thought they were voting against abortion "rights", not for them. The Rats overestimate the number of Americans who are pro-baby murder.

My concern is will these people be back in November?

The good news is that this serves as a wake-up call to the “Muh Red Wave” folks.

I would say that November is more favorable for us then this referendum because it is a referendum on the Rats' performance as a whole. No way will inflation be tamed by then. Bonus points for our side if they use monkeypox as an excuse to shut down the economy again.

Kansas votes OVERWHELMINGLY Republican in national elections. It IS one of the biggest conservative strongholds.

The fact, as mentioned by others, is that the people of this country want abortion LEGAL even if they PERSONALLY disapprove. They want it as early as possible, but they still want it.

Sadly, this proves that abortion CAN win elections.

Look at the link I provided. Kansas voted for Obama twice and Biden in the last election

Calling BS on this “vote”...how many registered voters versus the number of ballots turned in? Guaranteed fraud...a demo-commie couldn’t get elected dog catcher in hell without MASSIVE voter fraud.

Sounds like conservatives decided to stay home.

Sound more like too many "conservatives" are willing to accept that the commie-crats wouldn't cheat to keep baby murder on the books. Follow the money...who profits the most?

Are you sure they “voted” or just accepted the fraud reported by the jackass party?

Thanks for the reply. Good discussion. I’ve made up my mind. A baby in the womb is life and should be protected.

Isn't that quote from the Declaration of Independence and not the Constitution?

So I've been told. Must have been different people writing it I guess. Who knew. :)

Thanks for the reply. Think I did have it mixed up.

Yes it does. I hope this is fuel to the fire for the conservative crowd this November. No sitting down now, we need to get out and vote. I sure as hell am mad about this and will not let these smiling liberal clowns point fingers back at us.

Not to fret - their t-shirts read “Hands off our bodies” so it’s easy to comply.
