First trimester abortion is as popular with real Republicans as it is with everyone else.

I've long thought this was true and posted as much here over the years, only to be dismissed as a liberal disruptor.

Truth is, Roe V. Wade was a useful foil for Republicans. It allowed GOP politicians to placate their base by supporting extreme anti-abortion measures that they knew wouldn't stand up to a RvW court challenge. It allowed more moderate Republican voters to also support these candidates for the same reason. "I don't agree with him on abortion but that's ok. The laws being proposed won't stand up."

And it allowed Republican voters in general to pay lip service to the pro-life cause even if they didn't feel that way in their hearts. "OF COURSE I'M PRO-LIFE! (Thank God for Roe v. Wade).

Now Roe is history and there's going to need to be some measure of compromise in the works on the issue until a massive change in hearts and minds can be accomplished.

Kansas yesterday demonstrated this very clearly.

One thing though that needs to be mentioned is while abortion in the first trimester enjoys a plurality of support, abortion in the second and third trimester does not. The Democrats' position of "Abortion at any time for any reason" is just as politically unpopular as a total ban is and they should be forced to defend this position, not given a pass on it.

Wicked evil man I renounce you and your Satanic ways ruining souls and murdering babies, Joe Biden.

I pray that the Bishops move to excommunicate you.

Repent or continue life and death in hell, you wretched evil spirit.

“The government does not have the right to the citizens that they are not free to travel wherever they chose.”

If they pay to travel. The point is we pay for their travel to get an abortion under this.

What a stupid Executive Order.

As far as I know I can go from one state to another freely. Nothing holding me back. This is not the Soviet Union or other countries.

traveling to have an abortion, or commit a murder, isn’t against the law.

the location of the crime doesn’t excuse the crime.

upon arriving back in the anti-abortion state, similar to a mother returning from vacation without her kids, that’s when the charges would be leveled.

Healthcare providers threatened with non-payment of Federal funds if they don’t ignore Pro-life laws.

Didn’t Nixon try to “impound” funds allocated by the Congress and was slapped down by the Supreme Court? Withholding funds sounds just like that to me.

A body double would not be that incompetent.

Indeed - can we have Biden's 'Dave' instead?

Does not the Constitution guarantee the right of free travel between the states?

“The right to travel is typically described as arising from the Privileges and Immunities Clause of Article IV of the Constitution, among other constitutional provisions.”
