White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was mocked and ridiculed online after claiming that the Dobbs decision to overturn the Roe v. Wade ruling was unconstitutional.
Jean-Pierre made the comments during the White House media briefing on Wednesday.
“From day one, when the Supreme Court made this extreme decision to take away a constitutional right, it was an unconstitutional action by them, a right that was around for almost 50 years, a right that women had to make a decision on their bodies and how they want to start their families,” she said.
Democrats and others on the left have been in an uproar since the Supreme Court overturned the landmark 1973 ruling and sent the decision on abortion rights to be decided by each individual state. Numerous abortion clinics have shut down all across the country while those seeking abortions have been forced to cross state lines to do so.
Critics of the Biden administration mocked the statement from Jean-Pierre.
“She is not the first self-appointed tenth justice but may be the first White House Press Secretary to make such Article III judgments,” replied legal analyst Jonathan Turley.
“This woman may be the dumbest press secretary ever employed by a White House and I remember Scott McClellan,” tweeted talk radio host Erick Erickson.
“It honestly feels cruel to put her on the podium and make her answer questions each day,” responded Abigail Marone, press secretary for Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.).
“A lot of you are dunking on her for this, but just feel lucky she didn’t say it was disinformation. Or domestic extremism. Or factcheckers rated this false. Or whatever other words they’re using for ‘things I don’t like’ this week,” replied security advisor Omri Ceren.
“Tell me you don’t understand the purpose of the Supreme Court without telling me you don’t understand the purpose of the Supreme Court,” read one response.
While abortion supporters claim that the right to abortion has been established through precedent of numerous cases since Roe v. Wade, even some on the left have admitted that the legal basis of the 1973 decision was shaky.

IF she can even read basic English-—I need her to SHOW ME IN THE CONSTITUTION WHERE ABORTION IS A RIGHT.
The 50 years of lies have poisoned her mind-—what little there is of that.
Sometimes a mocking is truly deserved.
Surprised the headline didn’t say, “Republicans Pounce....”
Determining something was unconstitutional is unconstitutional.
Got it.
Do these critics not understand that she is a foreign born black lesbian? That is always of primary importance.
She’s black and a lesbian. That’s all the qualifications and authority she needs - she thinks.
Too damn dumb to even realize the idiocy of her comments.
I miss Jen
The problem with the communist left is they don’t accept the constitution as written. I propose when a New Democrat communist politician takes their oath to support and defend the constitution of the US they should be asked “Do you support all amendments? Do you support the 2nd? ummmm?
Oh, noes! People being FORCED to “cross state lines”! Oh the humanity!
I live 20 minutes from one of those dark and forbidding “state lines”. I shudder at the thought of crossing that line to watch my local HS play football games this fall.
OMG ‘Circle Back!’
The black lesbian immigrant needs to be mocked every time she opens her mouth. She can’t speak a fragment of a sentence without either lying or saying something hideously stupid. She is truly low IQ. She isn’t even a real American. There is no place in OUR society for people like her. She should have never been allowed into America.
Somebody tell the dumpy black chick at the podium that she might try actually READING the Constitution before making a fool of herself.
I know, I know... all those big words. But, if she goes slowly, sounds out each word, and uses a dictionary, I’m sure she’ll make it. Oh, and make sure she knows she can run to her safe space every time she reads one of those scary, triggering words like “freedom” or “liberty” so she can calm herself down.
But, in the end she probably wouldn’t understand it even if she did actually read it.
LOL!!!
“a right that was around for almost 50 years”
Any “right” that has only been around for 50 years can’t have come from a 250 year old constitution, sweetheart.
A majority of the people actually believe that the constitution Grants Rights.
It doesn’t!🥴
I will love to see the left twist themselves into knots about why those two should be overturned but not Roe v. Wade.
And, the commie trash will argue in front of the ignorant that this is so.
No, no, no, the Const states the rights that you have by being human. It limits the guv’mts ability to infringe upon same.
Much of the verbiage comes from Eurotrash. Rights over there in the continent that started most of the world’s wars are granted by gov’mt. Like a king or such condescendingly “lends” you a right — but only if you behave yourselves!
THe US shocked the world 250 years ago when it put into law the concept of natural rights, human rights. It didn’t GRANT the rights, it recognized them as inherent and then protected them.
Europe will never forgive this. Which is why they support the CCP’s drive to erase them.
