“Trying to find a way to invade Russia in the winter?”
Eastern Russia is virtually undefended right now. 80% to 90% of the Russian forces that had been stationed there were diverted to the Ukraine War. And the units on the Kurile Islands were recently sent to fight in Ukraine as well.
Were China to invade and annex Siberia in the fall then Russia would have to quit the Ukraine War and send their troops 4500 miles east during the Siberian winter to try to retake the territory from a vastly superior opponent.
And I doubt the Russians can do that. More likely they’ll impotently bluster about nuclear threats and do nothing while the Chinese entrench themselves in what used to be Chinese territory anyway.
Oh, heck, there’s a reason it occurred to me.
