The purpose — other than simple abuse — was to check visa come/go stamps to try to build some sort of espionage claim.

This is not tracked nearly as well as it could be if you leave by private flight. I’ve come and gone from the USA on charter flights and while my USA or Israel passport is looked at, it’s seldom scanned or entered into a computer.

More so, when going country-to-country outside the USA. You get a tired guy who looks and puts a rubber stamp on it.

So, fishing, looking for a crime, establishing a timeline, in other words.

If the process is that sloppy, perhaps the FBI was looking for stamps indicating that Trump had visited Russia to collude with his pal Putin.

Or perhaps the FBI wanted to add some stamps of their own.

Unlikely, I know, but these days it is hard to know what is beyond the FBI.
