Historians privately warn Biden that America’s democracy is teetering
Washington Post ^ | 8/10/22 | By Michael Scherer, Ashley Parker and Tyler Pager

When Biden met with historians last week at the White House, they compared the threat facing America to the pre-Civil War era and to pro-fascist movements before World War II

President Biden paused last week, during one of the busiest stretches of his presidency, for a nearly two-hour private history lesson from a group of academics who raised alarms about the dire condition of democracy at home and abroad.

The conversation during a ferocious lightning storm on Aug. 4 unfolded as a sort of Socratic dialogue between the commander in chief and a select group of scholars, who painted the current moment as among the most perilous in modern history for democratic governance, according to multiple people familiar with the discussions who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe a private meeting.

Comparisons were made to the years before the 1860 election when Abraham Lincoln warned that a “house divided against itself cannot stand” and the lead-up to the 1940 election, when President Franklin D. Roosevelt battled rising domestic sympathy for European fascism and resistance to the United States joining World War II.

The diversion was, for Biden, part of a regular effort to use outside experts, in private White House meetings, to help him work through his approach to multiple crises facing his presidency. Former president Bill Clinton spoke with Biden in May about how to navigate inflation and the midterm elections. A group of foreign policy experts, including former Republican advisers, came to the White House in January to brief Biden before the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

These meetings have come as Biden faces the isolation that is endemic to presidency, a problem that some Democrats say has been worsened by the coronavirus pandemic, which restricted visitors through much of the first year of his presidency, and...

Yes, and all of these dire issues brought to you by the Democrat Party and exacerbated thereby.

This reads like something out of the North Korean press.

Considering Biden's knowledge of history (like during the stock market crash of '29 when FDR went on TV and assured everyone it would be ok) it could have been a room full of janitors and the level of conversation would be the same.

But I'm thinking, it never happened at all...

...Biden, at these tabletop sessions, often spends hours asking questions and testing assumptions, participants say....

Questions like:
Where's the ice cream they promised would be here if I came.
& When's the President arriving?? They told me he would be attending this meeting!

“Can we assume the “select group of scholars” did not include Victor Davis Hanson?”

I think that’s a given.

There it is, that D word again.

Historians huh?

Amazing that those mental giants don’t realize we have a
Constitutional Republic. Well, it has only been 243 years.

Of course Biden asks questions:
When is lunch?
When is dinner?
Is it bedtime yet?

Marco Rubio said:
‘These are elitists completely insulated from the consequences of the things they support.’
U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio is accusing historians who met with President Joe Biden of being “snobs” working against the interest of “everyday people.”

Biden met with a handful of academics, including Princeton University history professor Sean Wilentz, University of Virginia historian Allida Black, journalist Anne Applebaum and presidential historian Michael Beschloss.
////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Rubio was right. And that jerk Meacham has been slandering Trump for years, in the media spotlight.

The big problem with “history will say....”
is the violent victors write the history. Our side won the 1776 Revolutionary War, WWI and WWII so history looks like we want it but the losers could write we were wrong.

So the academic professors are 90% leftists and have been for years and years. Arthur M. Schlesinger’s three thick volumes The Age of Roosevelt were in the adult section of the library where I first went as a child. They allowed me a special permission note to let me take them out. I read them. Years later I got a political science degree. By that time I had thought for myself but how many people stayed with the old lines of thought? Millions. The voters we are battling today.

If a conservative history book comes out it is an exception for a major publisher. Bill O’Reilly’s books expose millions to things they never knew-——bless him for that. But others wait for Doris Kearns Goodwin or others to laud the Leftists.

Whoever his handlers are, they’re schooling him in the narrative is my thinking. They have to re-educate him from what he knew/knows to thinking half the country is a threat.

That is easy to do with someone with dementia, make them paranoid.

It’s teetering because the gangsters in the Democrat Party are gangsters and not citizens.

Politics is a way for Democrat gangsters to steal money.

Where is our Elliot Ness?

So his head is filled with this poison.

Meanwhile they just threw out 27% of the votes in California. But the “historians” didn’t see that as a problem.

Always “democracy”.
(T)he first step in the revolution by the working class is to raise the proletariat to the level of ruling class—to win the battle of democracy.

— Communist Manifesto

What will be the course of this revolution? Above all, it will establish a democratic constitution, and through this, the direct or indirect dominance of the proletariat.

— The Principles of Communism

(I)t is very clear that in fundamental theory, socialism and democracy are almost, if not quite, one and the same. They both rest at bottom upon the absolute right of the community to determine its own destiny and that of its members. Men as communities are supreme over men as individuals.

— Woodrow Wilson
Today’s media will also push “democracy” when what they really mean is socialism. One and the same, remember. And that’s why the USA was founded as a republic instead.

Never mind the fact that “democracy” versus “fascism” is a false dilemma. Fascism arose from socialism and is no different from socialism.

It’s not a democracy. It’s a Constitutional Republic. And withholding school lunch money from children unless they’re FORCED to share bathrooms with people of the opposite sex isn’t democracy. It’s f***ing tyranny. Using Title IX to impose perversion on children, and to persecute their parents, isn’t democracy, it’s f***ing tyranny. They’re imposing indecency, filth, and depravity on children, and telling parents they can’t do anything about it. God willing, they’re gonna find out different, and they won’t like the way they find out.
