Pro-Trump wins in blue states threaten GOP hopes in November

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Republicans have found success in Democratic strongholds like Maryland and Massachusetts when they have fielded moderate candidates who could appeal to voters in both parties. With Democrats facing headwinds this year, Republicans had hoped that strategy could pay off yet again.

But Republican voters have nominated loyalists of former President Donald Trump in several Democratic states, including Maryland and Connecticut, making the GOP’s odds of winning those general election races even longer. Massachusetts will face its own test next month as GOP voters decide between a Trump-backed conservative and a more moderate Republican for the party's gubernatorial nominee.

“It can’t continue,” said former Connecticut U.S. Rep. Christopher Shays, a moderate Republican and Trump critic, referring to the GOP choosing pro-Trump candidates. "One of the things that will happen is that a lot of the Trump candidates who won the primary will lose the general election. And there are a lot of unhappy Republicans who hold office now who believe that the Senate now is in jeopardy of staying Democratic.”

Solution? Simply that the GOPe just work as hard for the MAGA candidates as we did when we were unhappy with their weakass candidates: the McCains, Bushes, Romnies, McConnells, Grassleys, Thunes; etc. Come join in and donate money to the MAGA candidates and watch them win.

Republican voters nominated pro-Trump candidates in several blue states, including Maryland and Connecticut, where more "moderate" GOP candidates have typically found success.

There's an Orwellian sentence. Neither state has had a Republican Senator in decades. There are zero Republican Congressmen in CT. I think the last one was in the 2000's. There is one Republican Congressmen in MD. I think it's been decades since they had more than one in MD. They sometimes elect "moderate" Republican Governors like Hogan - who are actually liberal on most things. Why should any conservative care about that?

Trump endorsed candidates lose, Trump is losing it.

Trump endorsed candidates win, chances for Republican win
are destroyed by Trump candidates.

The media and the RNC/GOPe always have something joyous
for us to contemplate. /s

Christopher Shays says the the MAGA candidates can’t win. But the “moderate” Republicans have a poor track record in states like CT and MD in recent years. Given that fact, his complaint makes no sense. Maybe he’s actually afraid they will win as you point out.

They think they scare us? Hilarious.

If they are reading, we don’t care if the GOP loses if being GOP means electing Liz Cheney types.

We don’t demand perfection but most of the damn time we want you to be pro life, securing our border, keeping our taxes low and respecting private property and gun rights. Arrest the Antifa and blm morons. No more gay grooming. Execute the murderers. No more liberations for ingrates just grease the terrorists. And no more leftwing experiments that lower our quality of life so they can stroke themselves to electric toy cars and people wearing pointless cloth masks.

Democrats are ten feet tall and invincible. People love empty shelves, high prices, illegals flooding their towns, weather taxes, crime, corruption, and gun control. This will be a Democrat landslide everywhere.

Well, if it is, we have a citizenry that is out of it’s
collective mind.

Some of our folks would vote themselves into utter
destruction. I’ll grant that.

“Does AP stand for Awful Press?”

Change the awful to asinine and press to phallic and add the word aggressive.

This will explain it but it’s not for children:

Rush renamed AP to APO many, many moons ago.

Associated
Press
Obama

Since Obama and his minions are really running everything, I still call it APO.

Everybody is angling these days. Is it because I recognize self-serving actions and comments more with age and experience or that they are just shameless and think others are stupid enough not to notice what they say and why?

There is no such thing as a moderate rhino. They are just rhinos and losers. This guy is butt hurt. Who cares besides AP.

I read the headline and thought it odd and now I know why that is so, it is odd and it is twisted.
