Instead of one AR locked in a safe somewhere in the admin offices, a much better solution is to allow teachers, with training etc, to carry a concealed pistol, if they wish.

The school defense needs to begin in the hallways and school rooms, at the very moment the threat emerges.

A school cop showing up with a AR five or ten minutes after the shooter is barricaded inside a classroom is as useless as the Uvalde PD.

Concur 100%, Matt. The response time to any attack needs to be measured in seconds, not minutes. Here's an idea -- do both.

Of course, in light of the fact that the vast majority of these crazies seem to have histories of telegraphing their intentions for weeks, sometimes months ahead of time, maybe putting them on a leash beforehand might be in order. A tough call, that one.
