British subs have Tomahawk cruise missiles that have a range of about 1,000 miles putting Moscow well within reach of subs in the Baltic. Plus any Russian vessels anywhere near the British isles would be unlikely to ever return, and the British base in Cyprus could probably do a number on Russian warships in the Med.
