I had a conversation this afternoon with a global warming nut. It started off innocently. She brought up the stock market. She had no idea that it was tanking today. Then I told her that natural gas hit a 14 year high. She then expressed everything will be okay when heat is electric. I was nice and didn’t rip into her. I simply asked what is going to run the electric plants, particularly at night when the sun goes down and the wind dies down. That was followed with the inefficiencies of electric transmission for heat versus gas going directly to homes. She changed the topic when she didn’t have an answer. I don’t think it registered with her. Quite honestly, black and brown puts probably would not register.

I’m not sure I buy into this.

It’s summer time here, read that vacation time. Gas prices
at our local lowest cost station, have dropped from the peak
of $6.099 per gallon, to close to $4.899. This generally
one of the peak gasoline price times of the year.

That going against the grain, I don’t know what to make of
the claim prices will skyrocket this winter.

Propane for home heating is a different product, so I’m
not sure how big an indicator gas prices are.

I just think there are always folks out there trying to
spread “the good news” (NOT!), so I’ll take this
prediction with a grain of salt.
