“And yet Trump, who I’d consider an expert of branding, gave him face time to the max establishing Fauci’s expertise and brand.”
That’s true. In some ways when the SHTF, I think Trump was a babe in the woods in dealing this type of politics. (He was an expert in dealing with private enterprise politics.) And he wrongly trusted Pence who had been in politics for years.
It’s a time in history I wish I hadn’t experienced. Although one of the best days EVER was 11/8/2016!
Time in history?
You haven’t seen nothing yet. Watch the hysteria as the vaxxxxxed realize they have been given a death sentence.
I agree to a point, but I also think Trump’s phobia was at work too. It is well established he is a germaphobe.
Now take someone with the phobia and tell them to manage a pandemic. They are going to make significant mistakes.
Trusting Fauci at the time made sense. But once it was evident that trust was being abused by Fauci and the media Trump needed to take back control.
A reasonable question would be…if he had done that…who else could he have trusted?
Hind sight is always 20/20.
