White House Deputy Counsel Jonathan Su was a busy man, at least when it came to carrying out President Joe Biden's wish to eliminate former President Donald Trump's claims that materials and testimony from his presidency were covered by executive privilege.
Su sent letters to former Trump adviser Steve Bannon last October and former advisers Peter Navarro and Gen. Mike Flynn in February informing them that the incumbent president had waived any claims Trump might have that testimony or evidence they might provide the House Jan. 6 committee was covered by executive privilege.

If the much-professed rationale for executive privilege (that it is necessary for a President to get candid advice of staff, cabinet heads, experts) holds any water, then it would make little sense to let a sucessor President of a hostile party waive it by fiat.
There’s no “legal” way to deny someone their due process rights from govt prosecution. None. And that’s what Biden, Merrick, the FIB and certain cherry picked judges are doing.
Those that attempt to do that should be locked up themselves.

I doubt this Supreme Court will allow future president’s to end previous president’s executive privileges. If someone is to give a president his/her honest opinion, he/she wants that communication to remain private even after that president leaves the oval office. Otherwise the person giving advice will know that those advice won’t remain confidential once the president leaves office.

The way Swamp DC works, you pound them with their own tricks, and that shitt is barred and outlawed quick.
The problem here is the Republicans won’t fight. The Senate GOP is just fine having weapons that only work for Dems. We’ll have to take McCarthy’s word for it that he’s going to be aggressive. He declined to criticize Biden repeated during his first year.
The Dems break long standing precedent, that’s for losers in their opinion.
