Ukraine war: Russia railway station strike kills 25, injures dozens

A Russian rocket strike on a train station killed 25 people, Ukraine says, on the day marking six months since Moscow's invasion began.

Five of the victims of the attack in the eastern town of Chaplyne burnt to death in a vehicle, officials said. Two boys aged six and 11 were also killed.

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the strike in the middle of a UN Security Council meeting. A further 31 people were wounded.

Russia has so far made no comment.

Moscow has repeatedly denied targeting civilian infrastructure. Speaking on Thursday, UN human rights commissioner Michelle Bachelet called on Russia's president to halt armed attacks on Ukraine.

Mr Zelensky said he had learned of the strike on Chaplyne, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as he was preparing to speak to the Security Council, adding: "This is how Russia prepared for the UN Security Council meeting."

“Russia has so far made no comment.”

Sure they have...

As a result of a direct hit by an Iskander missile on a military echelon at the Chaplino railway station in the Dnipropetrovsk region, more than 200 servicemen of the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 10 units of military equipment were destroyed on their way to the combat zone in Donbass.

More info on yesterday’s attacks

Remember when the Western papers all tried to claim that the Kh-22s which were designed to one hit kill a ship, with a doppler radar guidance system had a CEP of approximately 8000 meters?

Colonelcassad
According to incoming reports, several planes of the 831st tactical
aviation brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force were destroyed at the
airfield in Mirgorod today. It is armed with the remaining Su-27
fighters and several L-39 Albatross light attack aircraft. Several
unnamed vehicles were destroyed or damaged - most likely it is the
Su-27. There was also a significant number of dead and wounded.
In addition, the airfield infrastructure and various wheeled vehicles
were damaged.

Recently, at the Kanatovo airfield, 2 Su-27s of the same brigade
were already caught at the airfield, which were supposed to be used
in the operation to organize the flight of a Russian pilot to Ukraine,
which was uncovered by the FSB. As you can see, the 831st brigade
was taken on board and the hunt for aircraft running around the
airfields continued.

The strike was carried out by long-range aircraft of the Russian
Aerospace Forces. The air defense systems of Ukraine were unable
to cover the airfield from attacks by X-22 missiles.

Local source on this strike. Since last week the train station has been a military staging area.

“Regarding the arrival in Chaplino by train, the relatives
called immediately, in general, for the last week, echelons
of military equipment and manpower have been actively
driving there, the locals are all aware and knew that sooner
or later intelligence would figure out and no one will put up
real photos so that they don’t see broken armor and dead
soldiers. And as for the cars in the photo, there are a lot of
Zhiguli there because people don’t have money for other
cars, and the roads were smashed with tanks back in 14,
when Donbass drove the columns”

This is interesting and surprising. It comes from a Ukrainian Telegram site that has an inside source in the OP (Office of the President.)

https://t.me/s/rezident_ua/

Resident

Our source in the OP said that the Cabinet of Ministers has prepared data for the Office of the President on the negative trend in the reduction of the population of Ukraine. The figure of 40-42 million is just for statistics, even before the war the real population barely exceeded 33-34 million, while Luhansk and Donetsk regions were considered. About 7 million left Ukraine after the start of the war. Minus Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Russian-controlled territories of Zaporozhye, Kherson and Kharkiv regions. There are about 19-20 million left.

Hence, a whole range of problems, ranging from a shortage of labor resources and a reduction in the tax base to conscription in the army. Losses, even on the lowest scale of assessments, which Zaluzhny announced, are becoming much more tangible.

Our source in the OP said that the General Staff is asking the Office of the President to allow the mobilization of women from narrow professions, the shortage of which is now felt in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As an alternative to the trial “format” - work in the rear.

What a coincidence

The Russians know when to perfectly time their mass slaughters.

You're free to post photos of these tanks or other military equipment destroyed in this attack on a civilian passenger train.

Russians say this every time, and each time there is never any evidence of any military equipment at these scenes.

So your source is some freak calling himself "Dr.Snekotron"?

That's some real credibility there...

Chaplyne appears to be a key rail junction with a line from Dnipro splitting into a line leading east towards Pokrovsk and another leading south towards Polohy. It has obvious military logistical importance. It seems odd that it has existed for 6 months.

Yes, it’s definitely advantageous to them, politically, to kill a bunch of civilians just before or during a UNSC meeting where Z plans to speak…..

FR’s Putinists concluded those are all stage actors and/or were killed by Ukrainians, and that all evidence the contrary—whether local surveillance video from CCTV on businesses to sattelite imagry proving the opposite is just part of a complicated conspiracy theory push forward by George Soros, the Bilderburgers or whatever, the Free Masons and the Illuminati. And if the Putinist is being really really honest with his inclinations, he’ll say “and the Jews are behind it all!”.

I suspect Z has started seeking an exit strategy, perhaps with Erdogan’s help…and that BoJo’s visit yesterday and Biden’s call today…are to sabotage back-channel contacts and keep the war going

The UKA losses this week alone are approaching the numbers the US saw in 20 years in Afghanistan

Of course, because Russians killing civilians is a sign of Russia’s imminent victory.

In war you kill anyone and every one from enemy country.
Don’t you remember grandma’s pouring hot oil on enemy soldiers near their house?

In love and war, any tactics to win are to be deployed.
