H-1B visa: US reaches cap for 2023
The Pioneer ^ | August 25, 2022 | PTI

Posted on 08/25/2022 12:45:50 PM PDT by Jyotishi

The US has received sufficient number of applications needed to reach the Congressionally mandated 65,000 H1-B visa cap for the fiscal year 2023, the country's federal agency for immigration services said on Tuesday.

The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to employ foreign workers in speciality occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise.

Technology companies depend on it to hire thousands of employees each year from countries like India and China.

The H-1B visa programme is the most sought-after work visa among foreign professionals, including Indians.

“We have received a sufficient number of petitions needed to reach the Congressionally mandated 65,000 H-1B visa regular cap and the 20,000 H-1B visa US advanced degree exemption, known as the master's cap, for fiscal year 2023,” the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said in a statement. USCIS has completed sending non-selection notifications to registrants' online accounts. The status for registrations properly submitted for the FY 2023 H-1B numerical allocations, but that were not selected, will now show, “Not Selected: Not selected – not eligible to file an H-1B cap petition based on this registration,” it said. Meanwhile, the federal agency will continue to accept and process petitions that are otherwise exempt from the cap, it said. “Petitions filed for current H-1B workers who have been counted previously against the cap, and who still retain their cap number, are exempt from the FY 2023 H-1B cap,” it said.

“...allows US companies to employ foreign workers...”

And they are allowed to bring their spouses. First thing they do is get pregnant and spit out an anchor baby. That’s what Mohamed Oz parents did. He is an anchor baby, born to Turkish parents who are BOTH now living in Turkey again. Did they get deported?

Don’t for get the 2 for 1 deal, involving H4 EAD authorizations.
Then, don’t forget the entire alphabet soup of job thieves:

I live in a large condo complex in a suburban town.Nearby is a large high tech company. In this complex there are many, many Indians (Asian, not American) living. I absolutely refuse to believe that there aren't enough Americans,or people with Green Cards,to fill high tech jobs. Of course Indians will work for 20% of what Americans would expect for a particular job.

The H-1B scam just another form of state sanctioned invasion coming from the friendly skies instead of through the Southern border. Thousands and thousands of Americans have lost their jobs to these foreigners.

He is an anchor baby, born to Turkish parents who are BOTH now living in Turkey again.

And he is a pretty successful American citizen. What's your problem with that? Ukraine broke your, and several other freaks on this board, brains.

The wealthy psychopaths running our government are just out to crush the middle and lower classes.

Every visa lowers American salaries and job opportunities.

“...American citizen...”

That’s just it. He was born in Cleveland to non American citizen parents. The original intent of the birthright citizenship clause (14th amendment) clearly EXCLUDED children of foreigners. The liberal courts over the years have bastardized the original meaning.

https://thefederalist.com/2018/11/02/heres-key-clause-birthright-citizenship-debate-briefly-explained/

As an adult, Oz JOINED the TURKISH army (NOT the USA Army). He STILL has Turkish citizenship. That sure is one hell of an “American citizen”. He is loyal to a foreign power.

You are obfuscating, FRiend. Quote from the article:

This is for the first time that India has voted against Russia on the issue of Ukraine, after the Russian military action began in February. So far, New Delhi has abstained at the UN Security Council on Ukraine, much to the annoyance of the Western powers led by the United States.

Nice try.

I love Indians, but we have enough single creepy Indian guys touching their peepees under the counter or behind the doorway while looking at girls walking by. And yes, Thar takin’ muh jobs. That’s the whole point. And YES, they and the rest of the turd world are REPLACING US. ENOUGH. If they are so valuable, India can use them to ultimately destroy China, which I pray for every day.

The H-1B Visa scam. I worked for a medium sized software company for 21 years, 1989-2010. While I was there the company only hired American citizens, period.

The President of the company was a Republican and contrary to stereotypes, very tolerant, Black, white, yellow, gay, straight, didn’t matter as long as you came in, kept your mouth shut, sat down in front of your computer and did your job. The one thing he wouldn’t tolerate was hiring foreigners before Americans.

So yes, the idea a company can’t make a profit unless they hire foreigners is bull.
