Don’t just leave that hanging out there as though Latvia was a free nation minding its own business and for no particular reason 87,000 of its population felt they should join the Germans against Russia.
Getting occupied is one thing, 87k joining the SS is another. Celebrating those 87k today is still another. Teasing that monument down was just pure hateful.
“Volunteering” was mandatory. They were conscripts.
