How Steve Wells’ strategy of ducking debates, interviews cost him expected win in House race (arrogant Establishment candidate)

From the moment he launched his campaign, Steve Wells looked like a shoo-in to win the Republican primary election for Congress. He had all the money he needed, an experienced campaign team and the backing of local and national Republican leaders.

He was running against an unknown political novice, Brandon Williams, who didn’t live in the new 22nd Congressional District in Central New York.

Wells had deep roots in the community, raising a family in Madison County and operating a business in Onondaga County. Williams made Cayuga County his permanent home in 2019, where he and his wife started a truffle farm.

Yet somehow Williams defied the odds, pulling off a stunning upset last week. He didn’t just beat Wells. He delivered a thrashing, winning 58-41%.

How could a candidate who spent $400,000 of his own money on the campaign, and had the backing of House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and No. 3 House Republican Elise Stefanik, lose so badly?

They continue to miss the main point:

"The ads called Williams a “liberal elitist” despite his pro-Donald Trump and staunchly conservative views...."

A Trump supporting candidate won, against another establishment RINO. The guy even looks like a RINO bureaucrat.

And now they think running A Trump supporter will cause them to lose the race to the democrat.

Brandon Williams was born in Dallas, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1990 to 1996. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University in 1990 and a graduate degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1998. His career experience includes being a business owner.

Sounds like a keeper. He is endorsed by Republicans for National Renewal.
