So what happens if everybody follows the instructions to cut usage 4 pm to 9 pm and sets their EV to charge at 10 pm or midnight? You are just pushing that enormous load out a few hours.
I agree with you 100%. And the push to get everybody to drive EV's will create the problem you describe.
I'm just saying not to make too much of them asking EV owners to charge after 9 PM because almost all EV owners are already doing that. It'd be like worrying about a Dim leader telling all the Dim voters to quit using math --- it's already happening.
