John Fetterman's campaign says his stroke recovery has complicated his ability to debate Dr Oz because he struggles with 'auditory processing' after Democrat previously said he was slurring words

While Fetterman is able to engage one-on-one - and has resumed campaign travel - he has more difficulty chaotic auditory environments, according to The WashingtonPost.

'We are working to figure out what a fair debate would look like with the lingering impacts of the auditory processing in mind,' Fetterman campaign strategist Rebecca Katz the paper. 'To be absolutely clear, the occasional issues he is having with auditory processing have no bearing on his ability to do the job as senator.

'John is healthy and fully capable of showing up and doing the work,' Katz added.

On Tuesday, Fetterman said he would not be attending an early September debate, pointing to comments Oz and members of his campaign had made about the Democrat's stroke recovery.

'Today's statement from Dr. Oz's team made it abundantly clear that they think it is funny to mock a stroke survivor. I chose not to participate in this farce,' said Fetterman, who suffered a stroke in May, just days before the Pennsylvania primary.

Oz's campaign had released a series of 'concessions' the GOP candidate would make if Fetterman agreed to participate in a debate broadcast by Pittsburgh's CBS affiliate, KDKA-TV, on September 6.

The list alluded to Fetterman's stroke by saying that Oz would permit the Democrat to have 'his notes in front of him along with an earpiece,' bathroom breaks at any time and said Oz's campaign would 'pay for any additional medical personnel [Fetterman] might need to have on standby.'

'Doctor Oz promises not to intentionally hurt John's feelings at any point,' it also said.

Fetterman's stroke, which was caused by an unregulated heart condition, had kept the Democrat off the trail for months, with the hopeful admitting to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in July that he may 'miss a word' or 'slur two together.'

I thought he was 100% recovered.

Anyway, if this is true, then he’s qualified to be President, as well.

Yet he thinks he can be a senator for 6 yrs..what Fetterman is hoping for is that the commie media who is 100 percent in his pocket will help him win

How is this lumbering ape-goon going to function as a US Senator if he cannot audio process? But that is a lie anyways. His brain is messed up, not his hearing.

Time for the Pennsylvania ape-goon to take another dive into the basement, for a few days of recovery.

But he is cleared to attend fund raisers in the Hamptons, since the sound of money has no impact on his auditory environment....

Democrats would vote for a dead man, as long as it was a democrat.

One of my uncles used to say that people would vote for Satan if he were running as a democrat.

Well, if the job description of my two RINOs is any indication, (Lankford and Inhofe, Oklahoma), actually showing up for work is not required.

He'll be a typical senator.

Auditory processing?

Fool, your mouth has always been full of shit. A stroke hasn’t changed that one bit.

Having problems with auditory processing would mean he can’t communicate that well with constituents and is therefore not suitable for the job.

It would not surprise me, if in the next couple of weeks, Fetterman drops out and the Democrats attempt to replace him with someone who is at least physically up for the job.

Especially if they can find a person who is well known and who could do the job.

This has some precedence, Robert Torricelli dropped out of the NJ Senate Race in late September and was replaced on the ballot by Bob Menendez.
