Narcotics, burglary, aggravated assault, battery, vandalism, and weapon-related crimes are now commonplace in residential neighborhoods where new moms push strollers on daily walks, kids bicycle to baseball practice, runners prepare for the next marathon, elderly groups do tai chi together, neighbors walk their dogs, and families picnic.

Is Nancy safe?
Same thing is happening in Portland. I am looking for someplace to retire that is outside of the United States. The rats are winning the rat race.
Sacramento is where California state law is made.
I suspect its highest state courts are there too.
Live and learn, maybe.
There is a law enforcement officer living on my block and the one to the north and the one to the south.
Many upper end neighborhoods may eventually have an affordable law enforcement officer dwelling.
I lived in Sacramento for many years up until my escape last year. I still go there frequently because of relatives. My wife and I tense up when getting on Hwy 99. We refer to it as entering the wild wild west. Insane drivers and lawlessness almost as bad as Memphis. Sometimes, I take the backroads and for a split second you think you are driving through a junkyard. Block after block of tents, rvs and cars that homeless have been allowed to inhabit. Trash and garbage everywhere. Sacramento used to be referred to as the City of Trees. Now the homeless have taken over the parks and the riverbanks.
I remind people of the not so distant past. In San Francisco Mayor Frank Jordan instituted his Matrix plan, and people were no longer allowed to ‘live’ anywhere they pleased. Those on the street who wanted assistance, received it (not on the street, sidewalk, etc.). Those on the street who were so challenged they could not go for help, they were taken off the street and helped. Those who stated ‘screw you’ it is might right, well, they had a right to 3 square meals and a cot.
For a time San Francisco was again a magical place. Just enforce the law and empower the police, but this is anathema to the woke communists that infect the cities. Chaos and crisis are their endgame.
What they really need to worry about are MAGA rethuglicans
Once they take it over, Democrats ruin every nice place in America.
Make America Great Again.

Fear is a great control mechanism. “Progressives “ thrive on it!
They believe,”The more you suffer, the more is shows you really care!” They love victims and martyrs. We’re neither. That’s why they hate us.
When does the news part of the report kick in? Sounds like anywhere illegals arrive in any state.
I lived in Roseville (a suburb of Sacramento) until I retired 10 years ago. The suburbs are generally very safe. Roseville, Rocklin, Auburn, Placerville, Folsom, and Elk Grove. Local governments and police departments don’t allow homeless camps in those communities. It’s that simple.
Cattle prods, water hoses, skunk scent, itching powder..........
There are ways to discourage the bums from taking up residence.

Roseville is where I lived up until a year ago. My relatives live in Elk Grove and I can tell you I see lots of homeless there. Not as bad as Sacramento but getting there. A few weeks ago I was there and there were banners on all the lightpoles “Diversity” and “Everyone Welcome”. It shows you the mentality of the current city government. I have told my relatives to get out while they can.
