Don’t know about y’all, but this hurts cause I sing Dee’s only 40 year old hit almost every day.
I might have to pass now though because don’t want to give him air time although words speak to me about these times when I hear them regardless of why he wrote it or who HE thinks it speaks to- (and isn’t that point of ‘art’?) Guess I’ll just continue to play Aaron Lewis ‘Am I the only One’ and John Rich ‘Progress’ in a loop. Gives me some moments of hope- so does reading the YouTube comments I see for these 2 songs.
I went to see him, not perform but just have fun at a bar with a local radio station.
He was an asshole to everyone. He threw me out of the bar because my friend was “talking to too many chicks”.
Left a bad impression on me.
