The Secret Curriculum

School is starting, but don't count on getting answers about what your child is being taught. School administrators commonly lie or give parents the runaround.

That explains the fireworks over Jeremy Boland, a Greenwich, Connecticut, elementary school assistant principal, bragging about how the school pushes kids to think in a "progressive" way that he hopes will make them Democratic voters.

She was told she couldn't have a copy of the SEL curriculum because it was copyrighted -- a preposterous excuse because all the books students read are copyrighted.

If the school's texts are not available for parental review then they should be removed.

The solution is to starve the beast: Get your kids out of the government schools, do it now and do not look back.

Vote NO on any/all school bonds and pay close attention to local school board races.

It’s absolutely absurd that schools are blocking access as to what their children are being taught in the classroom.

Homeschool. We did. It paid off. We used mostly books from the 1800s.

Much easier to teach from and easy to keep the students a year or more ahead of the public school kids with far less time spent.

“Homeschool. We did. It paid off. We used mostly books from the 1800s.”

I would home school, but that would mean a step-down in lifestyle for me. So public school it is for my kids, regardless of what I read here.

(that summarizes most ‘conservative’ parents that I work with - they have really nice houses and cars)

On the one hand, I think it is hard to imagine some secret global cabal plotting the downfall of America and the West.

But on the other hand, I have observed politicians, school committees, and others all speak a certain way, all run meetings a certain way. Using things like the Delphi Technique. Really skillfully manipulating systems so that they get their way nearly 100% of the time while the crowd looks on and doesn’t seem to realize how thoroughly control is being exercised.

Somehow, from somewhere, I think key people are being trained in advanced techniques. It all seems orchestrated, but I don’t know exactly how.

Every classroom should have two fixed cameras with microphones...one behind the teachers station focused on the student area and one behind the student area focused on the teacher area. Output from both should be internet-linked and accessible to every taxpayer by password (although an argument could be made that access should be limited to parents and school personnel).

Close the public schools.

They do far more harm than good — and the children don’t even learn howw to read!

I think schools should be in three basic varieties:

Private schools (available through school choice) for children who want to learn.
Government schools for children with serious disabilities who need a safe and supportive environment.
Government schools for children who should be in prison and who need to be warehoused until they are old enough for general population at the penitentiary.

How hard is it to look at your child’s textbooks and homework assignments or ask your kid what he learned in school today. Volunteer at school. Run for school board.

Am I correct in assuming you are referring to removing the children from the Govt. Indoctrination Centers. That is the only hope and remedy. Why are people expecting and trusting these Scorpions would act any differently if they have your precious child in their clutches, both overtly and covertly?? A judge’s ruling is a worthless crapshoot easily overturned.

I would home school, but that would mean a step-down in lifestyle for me.

It shouldn't have to, it made little, if any difference for us.

It only takes a couple of hours, if that per day, the rest worked in with stuff we were doing anyway.

Torturing them with math, spelling, grammar, etc., on road trips, no paper or calculators allowed.

We only homeschooled through 7th grade though.

They decided they wanted to go to public school for the rest.

I figured by then, they could survive anything.

Their only problems were being bored from being ahead of their peers and sometimes beyond their teachers.

BTW, for lifestyle, not being tied to the school schedule allowed us to do what and go when and where we wanted without a thought.

I think many parents see school as a babysitting service with meals thrown in for poverty level kids. Sadly, they don ‘t care what is being taught.
