King Charles III was officially proclaimed Britain’s monarch Saturday in a pomp-filled ceremony steeped in ancient tradition and political symbolism — and, for the first time, broadcast live online and on air.
Scores of senior British politicians past and present, including new Prime Minister Liz Truss and five of her predecessors, gathered in the ornate state apartments at St. James’s Palace for the meeting of the Accession Council. They met without Charles, officially confirming his title, King Charles III. The king then joined them, vowing to follow his mother’s “inspiring example” as he took on the duties of monarch. The new king formally approved a series of orders — including one declaring the day of his mother’s funeral a public holiday. The date of the state funeral has not been announced, but it is expected to be around Sept. 19.
This is the first time the accession ceremony has been held since 1952, when Queen Elizabeth II took the throne.

I found this Historical and Official ceremony fascinating to watch. ...... All the former living Prime Ministers were there. William also signed papers so it was very interesting to watch......most definately a change from one era to another.

For the most part it was ceremonial, but the Orders-in-Council were important for continuity of government. The use of the assorted Great Seals is required for official documents. The orders allow the continued use of the late Queen’s seals until replaced.
It was so fascinating to watch - the first time ever to see this type of transition as it happens historically. Very formal an the Brits do take this seriously. The crowds themselves testify this is important to them.

I loved it when I heard him pledge to be the Defender of the Faith, the Protestant Religion and the Presbyterian form of government. This PCA person agrees with the latter statement.

Do we even have the guts and the bravery to fight against these enormously powerful evil institutions that have descended on our nation? Will we live as free people or slaves to a government that will constantly put its boot on our necks? Is freedom worth fighting for? FWIW, I count myself as an Anglophile who is deeply grateful for many of the things our mother country contributed to our nation, including the system of laws, checks and balances, Magna Carta, Bill of Rights and more.
I take no joy in the fact that they are even further under the globalist heel than are we. But I also take joy in the fact that their Brexit vote was as miraculous to them as the election of President Donald J. Trump was to us just five months later.
I pray for a repeat of such a miracle.
