President Joe Biden on Monday claimed progress on bringing inflation down, even as the cost of groceries keeps rising.
“We’re seeing hopeful signs of progress on inflation as well,” Biden said, adding that “inflation eased in July.”
Biden spoke about inflation during a speech at Boston’s Logan airport on Monday afternoon. He celebrated falling gas prices but did not mention the rising cost of groceries.
He insisted that Americans should trust him to handle the issue of inflation, calling it his “top economic priority.”
“The American people should have confidence that we’re on the right track, that we’re seeing real progress,” Biden said.
Biden blamed Russia’s war in Ukraine and coronavirus variants for contributing to inflation, ignoring the multitrillions of dollars in government spending passed by Democrats.

Great Value (Walmart) frozen skinless Alaskan salmon that was $12 for eight nice filets about a month ago is now $15 for a bag of four.

The printing presses slowed down in March 2021. We should be reaching equilibrium soon therefore inflation will slow down but it has nothing to do with any legislation. An effect of the slowdown is Recession which is now in play.
The strikes are starting. At some point, this thing takes on a life of its own.

Didn’t I hear Biden say that “climate change” was our top priority? Now it’s inflation that’s his top economic priority? Never trust anything he says & that way you won’t have to regret it later. Of course, I will admit that since he seems to be the main cause of the inflation that he should know something about it. He doesn’t seem willing to DO anything about it however. I think he needs to be put in a position where he would actually EXPERIENCE some of the pain of inflation.

Just bought a bag of assorted Halloween candy for $19. The same type and brand bag cost $15 last year.
Grocery prices aren’t just raising by dimes and quarters, they’re going up by dollars. House brand coffee went up $1.50 a box. 5 pound bag of potatoes had been $2.50, now $5.00. Our dogs food went up $20 a bag over the last year and the treats increased by almost $2.00 a bag. I don’t know how anyone with a fixed income is doing it.
