MADISON, Wis. — Peace activists spent part of Monday evening picketing for peace as the war in Ukraine rages on.
Members of the Madison Working Group on Peace in Ukraine demonstrated near UW Hospital on University Avenue, calling for an immediate ceasefire and diplomacy between Russia and Ukraine.
Some demonstrators worried about a growing threat of nuclear confrontation if the war continues.
“It’s a huge risk — nuclear confrontation, a nuclear accident — the risk is growing. We want to address that right now and we know we can do it,” demonstrator and volunteer Barbara Smith said.
Sept. 24 will mark seven months since Russia invaded its eastern European neighbor, sparking the war…

I too want an end to the pointless bloodshed, which should have never been started, but I find the timing of this protest suspect.

Finally, calls for Peace. Good to see. The cries for war, war, war are getting tiresome ( and mired in unpayable debt) and the suffering on the EU and West is taking it’s toll on the world.
Food shortages, record inflation, crippled GDP’s and manufacturing worldwide is simply not worth a regional dispute. People are suffering from their brain dead, emotional, leader’s unwanted war. Let’s hope reasoning and common sense prevail.
It would be interesting to see one of these protesters have
a squatter invade their home. The squatter claims to own
the place, and they can’t be kicked out. It has to weave
it’s way through the courts.
In the midst of the effort, someone holds a sign up in front
