Khanna: Gov’t Spending Helped Cause Inflation, Inflation Act Will ‘Bring It Down a Bit,’ but ‘Ultimate’ Solution for Now Is the Fed
Breitbart ^ | 09/19/2022 | Ian hatchett

Posted on 09/19/2022 6:59:57 PM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America Reports,” Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) said that government spending is a cause of inflation, but it was needed to avoid a recession and that while the Inflation Reduction Act will bring inflation “down a bit,” in the immediate term, “I don’t think that the ultimate source of inflation is going to be this act that will bring it down. I think it’s going to be Fed policy.”

Khanna said, “Obviously, inflation is an issue, people are still paying too much for food, for basic products, for their needs. But how do we solve this, how do we make sure that wages rise and prices come down? There’s only one way, and that is we have to make more things in America, we have to produce more, we need productivity to go up. And a lot of the president’s policies, particularly the CHIPS Act and the Inflation Reduction Act, [are] about bringing manufacturing back to America and housing solving supply chains.”

Drill baby drill and let’s have lots of fracking. Plenty of energy at low prices will power the economy and will bring manufacturing to the USA. Less government spending will help.

US can not make more things cheaper than countries with no child labor laws and no environmental protection laws.

Someday the young people will figure out they are being stolen blind by run away government spending. Government can’t spend a dollar without taking it from someone else. Printing money takes it from those that can afford it least.

The solution is for the government to make less money available, not more.

Yes, printing money non-stop might have some effect on inflation.

If you want to know what any bill passed by Congress is really about, just tack the word “not” to the beginning of the bill’s name.

Not Inflation Reduction Act

Correct. While China and India are building brand new coal burning power plants by the hundreds, we are moving to unreliable and most expensive form of energy, green energy.

Hydro is cheapest power source, followed by coal. That is a big disadvantage for US manufacturing competing with China.

Mr. Thompson speaking: “The country is in a terrible state. People are starving and giving up, the economy is falling to pieces, nobody is producing any longer. We don’t know what to do about it. You do. You know how to make things work. Okay, we’re ready to give in. We want you to tell us what to do.”

This is John Galt speaking: “Okay, I’ll tell you. You want me to be the Economic Dictator? Then start by abolishing all income taxes. Fire your government employees.”

He has profited on insider trading like many of our overlords, both Dem and GOP. Of course he says he knows nothing about those investments as they were made by his wife.
