Vladimir Putin today made a speech announcing that the conflict in Ukraine would be escalated, resulting in citizens attempting to leave the country.
In Putin's speech, he said there would be a partial mobilization of the military. Reservists and ex-military personnel with "certain military specialties and relevant experience" will be subject to conscription, he said.
Following this, according to the Russian online newspaper Lenta, flights to Armenia, Turkey and Georgia sold out.
"All tickets for direct flights to Istanbul and Yerevan were sold out in a few minutes after Putin's address," the publication's Twitter page wrote in a caption.
It also shared screenshots of the pages and how they could not be booked.
E Rosalie L, a Johns Hopkins interdisciplinary scholar, also said that the costs of flights began to skyrocket yesterday, when Putin was initially set to make his speech.

Tell me how a screenshot of flights, automatically tells one it is all citizens avoiding conscription; and why Russian citizens would go to Armenia, Georgia, and Turkey? (I don't think the OP can, hint hint)
I have just tried to book the flight to Istanbul from a couple of random cities of Russia for the experiment and had no problem.
Also the limited ‘conspription’ involves around 1% of ROTC and and active reserves. Not enough to clog airports even if they wanted to.
The Last stat I saw from July showed 2% of Russian Soldiers in Ukraine were from St. Pete or Moscow Oblast - Not just the city but the regions. By Population, their representation is currently miniscule.
The Russian military is majority the Poors, with the remainder a mix of Jihadis and Yee Haws.

What is your military background? It is not about losses. With the way the war is thought the Russian losses are minimal.
The objectives are obviously updating and more forces needed to control the terrain.
Also there are other hostilebl countries other than Ukraine looking for troubles.

I’m curious about the roads and trains heading out of Russia today too. It’ll be a mad scramble to get out before being drafted and sent into Ukraine as new cannon fodder.
