I remember the Scientific American. Full of theoretical and practical science articles that I could barely understand.
Today it’s a leftist rag. I read in it a couple of years ago a description of the Y, male chromosome as “puny.” This from a magazine that calls itself scientific.

Scientific dissent almost disappeared in the 50s as well, when science was positive it knew everything and it wad just a mater of filling in the details - its cyclical. Don’t put a lot on it.

I have degrees in science from both MIT and Harvard. And I am appalled at how WOKE both universities have become!!!!
I am also appalled at how one has to pick through all the WOKE articles in MAJOR scientific journals in order to find the real science!!!! Who knows how much wokeness has infected peer review as well!!!!

Dissent in science is not disappearing. It is gone....and has been for some time now. Those who tried to fight the censorship have submitted ridiculously false papers which have been “peer reviewed” (by agenda driven numb nuts) and published, then revealed for what they did to PROVE that “science” ain’t factual any longer....to no avail. Real scientists are driven underground just like the competent and qualities fired in all areas are being dismissed today.
Get with the “program” (pogrom?) man, or GET OUT!
No, Gaileo ran afoul of the law because he insisted on declaring unproven theories as fact. The law was that theories were fine, they just had to be proven before they could be declared as fact.
