Either you don’t know what a red herring is, or you are mistaking my motives for saying what I said - I’m not trying to mislead or distract anyone - I’m just calling the Ukraine fiasco the way I see it - more neocon warmongering.

US troops or no US troops, it is not unusual for there to be widespread public support for Leftist or neocon warmongering - that didn’t make it a good idea.

This latest warmongering over Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is a perfect storm for warmongering. You have..

1) the usual neocons never seeing a war they didn’t like
2) the Bidens being in bed with Ukrainian oligarchs
3) the Left and RINO neverTrumpers opportunistically trying to leverage off the Trump/Russia hoax by falsely conflating MAGA anti-Ukraine with love of Putin.

MAGA people rightly believe we should be defending our own southern border - not Ukraine’s.. but whenever we make that case, knee-jerk neocons call us Putin lovers…

I called it a red herring because you are deliberately failing to distinguish between supporting Ukraine with armaments, and actual troops on the ground or plains in the air. You are pretending that support for the former necessary implies support for the latter, and that's false.

You've also drawn the false dichotomy between helping Ukraine defend its borders, and our own failure to defend ours. But the two have literally nothing to do with each other. The Biden Administration was not defending our border long before the Ukraine war, and ending support for Ukraine wouldn't change that in the slightest.

The Democrats are, on principle, against securing the southern border regardless of what happens overseas.
