The video shows Ukrainian soldiers running through the forest during a counteroffensive in a separatist region of Ukraine that has been a key battleground for both sides since Russia's invasion on February 24.
Over the weekend, nearly 370 civilians were evacuated from the area, according to the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
"After the ambush, the operators of the SSO of Ukraine began to perform other tasks without losses," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Monday. "We remind all occupiers that unauthorized walks through Ukrainian forests will always end badly for them."
The page said that since the invasion began, 2,254 Russian tanks have been destroyed.
In recent weeks, Russia has deployed more of its Soviet-era tanks from storage as Moscow continues to expand its war efforts.
"Old Soviet tanks taken out of conservation by Russia - with no protection against modern weapons," Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to Ukraine's minister of internal affairs, tweeted last week. "And new Russian conscripts (also with no protection against modern weapons and a modern army - we've seen what they fight in). Perfect combination, doomed for success, I would say."
Donetsk, where Monday's attack was carried out, is among four regions in Ukraine where referendums are being held to decide whether the occupied territories will join Russia.
Moscow is hoping to annex Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, in what some said is designed to build Vladimir Putin's case for a nuclear attack. The West has already said it will not acknowledge what it called sham votes.

A military spokeswoman defended the Ukrainian strategy.
“The enemy’s superiority in artillery does not decide the outcome,” said Nataliia Humeniuk, the head of the communications division for Ukraine’s southern command. “History knows cases of unique battles where the quality of combat was decisive. Not the number of weapons.”
The Russian tank depicted has the small square boxes on the turret and bodies. it is said they somehow absorb a projectile and prevent penetration of the tank body. The protection Russian engineers provided against modern weapons is absolutely useless
All the many, many photos of destroyed Russian tanks depict the squares. They are useless and offer no protection at all from the Ukranian weapons that destroyed them

The momentum of the war in Ukraine has shifted in Kyiv’s favour after it launched a counterattack across Kharkiv & Kherson. However, the Russian military’s struggles aren’t limited to inside Ukrainian borders. For months now, sensitive sites and important facilities throughout Russia have been hit by mysterious fires and explosions. All the attacks appeared to be part of an effort to undermine and degrade the Russian military’s offensive capabilities. In some cases, Russia has blamed Ukrainian sabotage and strikes for damage to military and civil infrastructure.
The Afghan Mujaheddin made a practice of immobilizing Soviet tanks (often causing avalanches to block mountain passes in front and behind them), and then piling brush around them and setting them alight (but only after asking three times — politely — whether there were any Muhammadans inside).
I guess the Rooskies are slow to catch on.
You also shouldn’t send tanks into contested territory without infantry support to provide local security. These losses are less the fault of the tank itself than of whoever sent them into combat without providing them all the support the conditions they would encounter might call for.
