In recent weeks, it seems like every time I go to the supermarket during the day, there is a small group of Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts conducting a fundraiser. The Girl Scouts have cookies, the boy scouts have—whatever is they’re pushing. Today was no different, some local Boy Scout troop was selling something for a fundraiser, and when approached on my way out, I politely declined to buy whatever it was they were selling.
And I will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
This isn’t something I’m happy about. I know these kids are putting in some effort to raise money for their troop or whatever—I’ve been there. I was, for a couple of years, a Cub Scout, and I remember doing the fundraisers.
But I also remember the Boy Scouts not being a woke organization. Unfortunately, the once great organization has been destroyed by the radical left. Initially, there was a whole movement to open the door for gay scoutmasters, which, of course, was successful. Like every crusade for the radical LGBTQ movement, that wasn’t enough. Eventually, the Boy Scouts of America organization was pressured into admitting female members, too. So, because of the left, the Scouts went gay and co-ed, and now bear little resemblance to the Christian-based organization it once was. It is, sadly, now another front for LGBT groomers to target children. Earlier this year, a Scout troop in Seattle lead the Seattle Pride Parade.
Last year, we learned that the Boy Scouts were also pushing the leftist agenda with the creation of a new merit badge that clandestinely pushes both radical gender theory and critical race theory. To make matters worse, the badge was made a requirement for prospective Eagle Scouts.
The Girl Scouts have similarly become woke and heavily politicized.

The official curriculum for the Girl Scouts features leftist pro-abortion women like Hillary Clinton, Betty Friedan, Geraldine Ferraro, Madeleine Albright, and Gloria Steinem, while also touting left-wing policies.
Now both organizations are suffering from huge membership losses. It’s sad, but frankly, they deserve to fail at this point. The left keeps taking good things and destroying them with wokeness.
This isn’t the kids’ fault, but they’re the ones who ultimately suffer from the radical left’s mission to destroy everything that is wholesome and good in this world. The good news is that alternatives to the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts exist, and we should support those that haven’t become groomer organizations to brainwash children into little left-wingers.
So sad. They were once a great institution brought to their knees by commie symps. All part of the commie agenda.
Everything that the Left touches becomes a complete disaster and shame to our values. Time to start new organizations that preserve and protect the legacy of true Americanism.

as an assistant scout leader and a webelos den leader, i can say that the organization is a bit more “woke” than i would like. we are a catholic church sponsored troop and we run our troop how we see fit. sexuality does not enter our lexicon. we teach our family values, and the merit badge is not teaching crt but is trying to teach acceptance, and they keep it very vague with definitions of identity, identify and such. i hope to be teaching it soon as the definitions of identity are reality, identify is make believe. snub those young people selling scouting and an expensive bag of popcorn, but the young men in the troop and the young ladies in my den are better off being in scouting.
I was involved with the Boy Scouts for several years and was eventually made an officer of their Florida/Alabama council. My accounting background showed me what a racket the entire organization was!!! We raised (from mostly our board members and scout fundraisers) $450,000 annually. The building was paid for, so all that $$ went to salaries and perks for 4 employees (3 were minimal part timers), with the exception of 5K that covered utilities and property taxes. I exposed the fraud and then resigned. I ran into the former Executive Officer who received the lion’s share of the 450K shortly after I resigned. He loaded the pine straw into my truck at Lowes.
We still buy stuff from the neighborhood kids...if we know them.
Had a kid show up last year selling something for his troop. Didn’t recognize him, although he new my name. As it turns out, there is a house on the other side of our subsection that has the same number as ours. His house. Since the street names are also similar, parcels get delivered to the wrong house on a regular basis. Both households have been good about running the mis-delivered parcels to the other’s house.
Darn right I’m buying something from the kid.
All true, although I’ll add that our pack and our trooop, like many others, were led by good men. The push for homos and girls came mostly from the national level, not from local troops.
I have tons of very young nephews and nieces (that’s why I’m broke every Christmas)
My brothers and sisters won’t let them join ANY organization which is homo friendly or have the rainbow flag on the front page. It’s bad enough they have to confront their lefty idiot teachers. We’re 3rd gen Sicilians, we know how to “talk” to these clowns.
What goes on in the troops ( all volunteer led) vs what goes on the the Councils and National Offices ( paid employees) is so different they might as well be in different worlds.
The kids sellling product outside the stores are using the money to pay for camping and other adventure activities, and troop gear. Deny kids these opportunties and you’ll just have more teens hanging out at the malls and house parties. I always found it a comfort to know my kid was in a tent in the woods …and with adults I trusted because choosing your troop is free choice. You don’t want a woke troop, don’t join one. Better yet start yoir own with like minded traditional Scouts.

I stopped when they embraced gay several years ago. Probably like 15 or 20 years ago.
As an Eagle Scout and former adult Scout leader, it pains me to say this.

This is EXACTLY RIGHT. Letting females become Scout leaders was the worst thing the organization ever did. They completely killed a wonderful program.

Let’s us not forget it was Robert Gates... yes that Robert Gates, who, as head of the Boy Scouts some years ago, approved membership from the homosexual community so they could “camp” with and have access to your sons...
In my experience, 2/3 to 3/4 of the revenue raised from selling popcorn went to Trail's End (owned by the BSA) or to the regional council, not to the troop or pack. I got tired of doing all the work as Cubmaster to raise money for the larger organization which had become woke. So the year I resigned, I ended popcorn sales and just had parents pay a membership fee of about $80. Saved them (and me) a ton of time and our pack had just as much money.
