Democrats’ generic congressional ballot lead narrows to 2 points: survey

Democrats’ lead in the generic congressional ballot narrowed to 2 points in a Politico-Morning Consult poll released Wednesday.

The poll found that Democrats led Republicans in the ballot 45 percent to 43 percent, down from the 5-point lead they had in the same poll last week. Democrats are holding the narrow lead six weeks out from the crucial November midterms.

Democrats are seeking to defy a historical trend that usually sees the president’s party lose seats in Congress in the midterm elections, while Republicans are trying to retake control of both chambers.

“Politico??? Why not make it 8 points since we are going to make up stuff.”

They figure they’re losing badly enough that with the cheat factor, they only win by a small margin.

What “generic congresional ballot lead”?
The Dems DON'T have any congressional ballot lead.

Yeah, and Obiben’s approval rating is in the stratosphere.

Exactly. If you don’t know the Byzantine history of these polls and how they routinely favor the Democrats, you’d think the Democrats were on track to hold Congress. But you have to always “adjust” the polls. Why not just adjust them and show real results, not these convoluted readings that require you to not take them at face value.

I have to give some credit here to the Hill. With the news that Politico was bought by some German dude who is a Trump donor, the Hill has really stepped up their game.

The amount of work they are doing to carry water for the dems. Ship these dudes and dudettes to Florida, Ian can’t produce as much water as the Hill can carry.

What about a poll among likely voters in battleground states and districts?

This poll doesn't even specify whether those polled were voters much less registered voters much less likely voters;a nationwide poll about particular elections is of no use.

Everything I've heard about battleground congressional districts shows the Republicans beating their brains out.

Is this generic ballot poll from 6 years ago? 10 years ago?

Just recently, it’s my recollection that R’s were already leading in the generic lead, by varying degrees.

Fox News polls are just as bad and in the same direction.

Well, either people want more inflation, higher gas and energy prices, more crime, more invasion across the border, lower 401ks, more pointless wars, more rhetoric calling half the country terrorists and causing 40 year olds to kill teenagers in cold blood, and more money wasted on the environment or sent across the sea to protect oligarchies...or the media is trying to butter up the numbers to make the big steal #2 more plausible and believable

They have to cheat by at least 2% to win.

Don’t they have this backwards? Everything for months showed Republicans with a 2-5 point lead on the generic ballot.

However, if the left takes everything...stolen or not...we are truly done. We the people have some decisions to make...

I noticed the hard left turn, didn’t know why.

This is how they set up for the big cheat. Start putting up polls on the races getting really tight.

They are STILL using a RV screen, which is laughable at the end of September. Regardless, it’s a huge move toward the GOP even in the most consistently left outlier poll.

I noticed that you didn’t post any of the other polls which show movement toward the GOP, including the Washington Compost poll which shows the GOP up 5.

The GOP is ahead on the generic ballot too, which you also ignored.

I see a pattern with your posts.
