Fox News Poll: Pennsylvania Senate race narrows. Growing concern over Fetterman’s health, but Oz supporters remain unenthusiastic as the Democrat still leads by 4 points

John Fetterman polls ahead of Dr. Oz in Pennsylvania amid voters’ crime concerns

Fox News' Bryan Llenas reports on Philadelphia’s police union backing Republican Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz as Democrat John Fetterman polls ahead in the state.

Democrat John Fetterman tops Republican Mehmet Oz among Pennsylvania voters by 45%-41%, in a Fox News survey released Wednesday. That 4-point edge is within the poll’s margin of sampling error, and down from an 11-point advantage in late July. It is notable neither candidate receives majority support.

Three percent favor independent candidate Everett Stern, and 11% back someone else, are unsure or won’t vote.

A large 82% majority feels certain they will vote, rating themselves a 10 out of 10, and among this subgroup, Fetterman is also ahead by 4 points, 48%-44%.

The survey also finds that since July, an increasing number express concern over Fetterman’s health, while a decreasing share worries about Oz’s carpetbagger status. Still, the health issue is the lesser worry of the two.

Fetterman returned to the campaign trail in August after suffering a stroke May 13.

Some 34% are extremely or very worried he may not be healthy enough to do the job of senator effectively, up from 23% in July. That 11-point increase is driven by greater concern among Republicans (+23 points) and independents (+19).

For Oz, 43% of voters worry he’s not familiar enough with the state to serve effectively, down from 52%. That 9-point decrease comes from fewer Democrats (-6 points), Republicans (-9) and independents (-16) expressing concern.

In the Pennsylvania governor’s race, a slim majority backs Democrat Josh Shapiro (51%) over Republican Doug Mastriano (40%). That’s mostly unchanged since July (50%-40%).

Oz can't put away a stroke patient who barely campaigns and is physically unfit to hold any public office. Couldn't the Pennsylvania GOP come up with anyone better?

They need to get over themselves, and keep Fetterman out, it’s not about them.

Republicans need to vote like democrats. Close your eyes and do it for the nation. Never vote in such a way to help a democrat.

Yes, that means even Lizard Cheney, Mitt Rommel, or John Coryn is better than the best democrat. If she had won the primary she should get every Republican vote at this point.

Get off the faux moral high horse and vote for Oz.

Hold your nose, crawl over broken glass and walk througn the fiery furnace to vote for Oz.

The demonrats want to murder you!

I don’t see Oz like I do that piece of crap Cornyn, I think Oz will be a reasonable MAGA voter in the Senate. Sure he has said some things I disagree with, but I think overall he should be ok.

This far out they had Hillary +5. So Oz is doing +1 better than Trump at this time.

Full disclosure: I voted for Kathy Barnett in the primary.

One week before the Primary I was in a small group and during the Q & A I asked him a “gotcha” question about his Turkish citizenship.

He reeled back with a deer-in-the-headlights look and gave a nuanced/neutral answer.

Afterward, I spoke one on one and apologized for what was undeniably an ambush; but through that conversation I learned that his daughter (the one on the food network shows) has married a Serbian Orthodox Christian and that he himself knows a good bit about Orthodox Christianity.

My favored Primary candidate lost. But that is in the past.

I support Dr. Oz!

The polls are as crooked as the elections are.

Which, of course, is to be expected.
