The only people who Donald Trump drives crazier than his enemies are his friends. We like Trump. We appreciate Trump’s largely remarkable record of achievements – remember how your 401k used to go up instead of plummeting into the earth? We even enjoy his mean tweets. But then he does something that is so obviously self-destructive and, moreover, something that has burned him before, and we want to rip our hair out and shriek like that tubby mutant in the raincoat who got on her knees as Trump’s inauguration was announced and howled “NOOOOOOOOO!”
Okay, why the hell does he still insist on talking to Maggie Haberman of the New York Times? She’s not his friend. She screws him over all the time. The regime newspaper hates him so much that it went beyond the full Walter Duranty to get him. And yet, there he is, giving long, luscious interviews to people who hate him. He did it with Bob Woodward too. Most people put their hands on a stove once and get burned and never do it again, but not Trump. No, by now his paw is figuratively charcoal.

This is spot on. Trump doesn’t learn. At all.
Agreed.
PR man got to PR.
When you live for the camera/TV, don’t be surprised when the camera/TV wrecks you.
“and we want to rip our hair out and shriek like that tubby mutant in the raincoat who got on her knees as Trump’s inauguration was announced and howled “NOOOOOOOOO!”
Seconds before her performance, The Green Raincoat’s eyes darted up and concentrated on scanning the set to make sure the cameras were in place before her inner voice yelled “action”.
It was completely staged. None of it was real.
Shush! It’s 12-D chess!
I hope you’re ready for the sycophants that will be inbound to this thread.
I’ve got the scar tissue already when I commented in the past - LOL
Since Kurt has posted here before, maybe they’ll finally start to listen a little.
Kind of like the QAnon stuff. That’s got Dead Poet’s Society written all over it. Probably a bunch of college kids who recruit at the beginning of the school year for two new members every year so they can perpetuate the hoax.
Kurt nails it? Don’t agree. E V E R Y S I N G L E W O R D that D. Trump speaks absolutely galls leftist democrats, rino’s and neverTrumpers. Even the self proclaimed “Maga ...but Not Trump” adherents miss the entire point of D. TRUMP’S “Stick it right in their eye” demeanor because “decorum”...or something like that. After all the leftists on BOTH sides of the aisle have treated you to it’s still “we should bend over and take it up the @$$ because, you know... DECORUM! So sick of leftist sycophants on the right trying to convince the folks that they aren’t. And every time you rail against the one guy who takes it to them no holds barred, we can all see who’s side you are REALLY on. Just my 2.
I always question Trumps judgement on these PR moves. Is it so he can point to such derangement as proof of TDS? Who does he need to prove this to?
I believe Trump will talk to anyone with a camera. The logic is that even if the MSM hates him its a way to reach people that would not otherwise get to hear him. He thinks he can use their media and communicate through their hostility. And often enough he manages to power through the enemy spin, because the enemy is also often too out of touch to realize what he is doing, semantically.
Schlichter is wrong here, and Trump is right. Its better to break their bubbles than preserve your own. You dont want to be in a bubble, you want to be out in the open, attacking. A bubble is a defensive formation.
Not that I think this will break down the solid wall of institutions, but it may well cause defections. You want there to be more of you, and fewer of them, come the crisis.
Re: 6 - Nope, doubt it. I’ve read more excuses for President Trump not being subject to “the buck stops here” than I can shake a stick at.
He was a good President. And could be a good President again if he hires good talent. But he loves the sound of his own voice.
Excellent piece.
“Okay, why the hell does he still insist on talking to Maggie Haberman of the New York Times?”
That’s a good question. The Leftist media in general means most of the media. There isn’t a huge block of middle of the road, sensible voters anymore. The middle has been hollowed out. To the extent that there are still independents, Trump does really well with them.
There is no good purpose served by talking to Maggie Haberman or the New York Times. It serves no purpose.
“Kurt nails it”
Want some crackers with your whine? What pantywaists some in this party are. All news is good news. Good articles are great, but bad ones serve a purpose too. They fire up the base.
I remember Freepers whining about his mean tweets. He will lose the female vote, yelling please stop as tears flowed down their faces. Yet, somehow Trump WON THE MOST VOTES BY FAR (12,000,000) of any Establishment Militoast candidates in history.
And don’t give me, but he lost. He didn’t and if you think he did you have another problem. Trump should cower in a corner afraid of any interview or interviewer. If the article is good or bad it serves a purpose. Being a coward does not.
Possibly a mild form of Tourette syndrome? Maybe he just can’t help it.
“Just my 2.”
I voted for him twice genius
And when the PB Post wanted to interview 10 Trump voters after the 2016 election, I was one of the ten on the broadcast.
But keep thinking you have a clue about me . . .
Although Trump is an imperfect vessel, he's apparently all we have.
should not...
Wow, Karens among us.
All vessels will be imperfect. Trump desperately needs better people around him. More Don Jr, Eric, and Steven Miller; less Ivanka and Jared.
Trump’s greatest asset is that he has outstanding instincts. They just aren’t perfect. He has some blind spots when it comes to putting together his team. The first time, he was probably shocked that his own party was trying at least as hard to undermine him as the opposition. Let’s hope he learned from that.
So he should cower before them like the RINO’s do?
