I’m going to disagree with this statement. Lincoln thought that black people were human beings and that chattel slavery was wrong. He also expressed doubt that blacks and whites could live together in terms of real equality because the differences between the races was too great. Might well have been true in the 1850s–1860s. No real need for it to be true today although with too many examples it sometimes seems to be.

Plenty of white people have expressed pretty much the same ideas as Whoopi G.
