On Friday Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) warned would-be looters that they would be risking their lives by trying to enter the homes of Ian victims, saying, “We’re a Second Amendment state.”
FOX News quoted DeSantis saying, “I can tell you in the state of Florida, you never know what may be lurking behind somebody’s home. And I would not want to chance that if I were you — given that we’re a Second Amendment state.”

Ashley Moody may be the next governor of Florida after Ron DeSantis.

Let the rot in jail for a couple of years before going to trial.

When you have >1/2 the homes armed as where I live in Texas, and folks can shoot you for breaking in (castle doctrine), you are gambling with your life with every break in.

The Florida SYGL also states you do not have to be in fear for your life but if you fear great bodily harm you have the right to use deadly force.

All 50 should be 2nd Amendment states (they are). It’s sad that his statement will be “controversial.”
If it were California, they Would either not be arrested or be in and out of jail in an hour, then back to looting and repeat the process.

All looters that are not shot should serve on a Chain Gang working 16 hours a day cleaning up the Hurricane damage. They are to remain on the chain gang until all the cleanup is done.
I remember when the rule was that looters will be shot on sight during hurricanes, earthquakes, catastrophes and riots. We should bring that back.
Libs in FL can respond by doing what the late mayor of Salt Lake City did. She distributed thousands of posters for the front windows of homes, This Is A Gun-Free Home.
