For this reason, the latest analysis could be alarming for older people amid the rising cost of living.

New data on flexible payments from pensions has shown a spike in the number of people accessing their pensions and in the amount of money withdrawn flexibly from pensions.

Between April 1 and June 30, 2022, some £3.6billion of taxable payments were withdrawn from pensions flexibly by 508,000 individuals.

This quarterly value of money withdrawal represents a 23 percent increase compared to the same quarter in 2021.

I saw an article the other day unveiling the first new King Charles III coin design by The Royal Mint. One would think there are more pressing issues to deal with in the U.K. other than making sure the new putz has a coin designed with his image on it.

New coin designs for King Charles III released by the UK’s Royal Mint

The HIGH Cost of the COVID shut down is coming due.

The destruction of innumerable small businesses and the creation of trillions of dollars/pounds is inflating currencies around the world.

Real inflation is well above the rates reported government.

The economic collapse coming is going to make the Great Depression look like roaring twenties.

I just hope people don’t blame FJB for the mess. That just wouldn’t be fair. It’s all Putin’s and Trump’s fault.

Inflation is championed by government to devalue debt owed by it.

He will always be “King Tampon” to me.

He was such a douche to Diana as well.

"He was such a douche to Diana as well."

Yep. She got sold a bill of goods, none of which was true. I know what I was like when I was 18. I was sold on the happily ever after scenario. Then I got married, had two sons, and eventually discovered that my then husband was an adulterer. Got rid of him in 1979, raised my sons by myself, and never looked back. Dated occasionally, but never had another serious relationship. My last relationship ended around 1989. Been alone ever since, and am completely happy. Any headaches or problems I may have, are of my own making. I was a fast learner in the game of life, and chose to keep my life as problem-free as I could. I'm 75 now. Been retired for almost 20 years. Love my solitude, and independence.

Charles was a real peckerwood because allegedly he really loved Camilla but they didn’t have the convection of their love to risk his crown so he ruined the life of a innocent girl whom he never truly loved.
One of the many reasons I loathe royalty. The dceased queen excepted.

"Charles was a real peckerwood because allegedly he really loved Camilla..."

The story that has been passed around is that Prince Phillip put pressure on Charles to settle down and find a wife. In the old days, marriages were arranged to create alliances with other countries, along with inheriting titles, land, and estates. None of that happens anymore, and other than carrying on tradition, it wasn't necessary for Charles to marry anyone at all if he had been honest with himself, and everyone else. He could have remained a bachelor, become King without having to ruin someone else's life, and continued what ever flings he wanted. Or, he could have taken himself out of the line of succession, and married Camilla. He has two brothers who were in line if he didn't have any heirs...Andrew the pedophile, who'd already had one bad marriage, and Edward, who out of the whole batch of children that Elizabeth produced, has been the one most well behaved, and down to earth. If Charles had taken himself out of the equation, it's possible that Parliament would have rewritten the royal line of succession statute, skipped Andrew, and went right to Edward.

Charles chose to be weak, and hold his tongue because I believe he wanted to be King so badly, he was willing to live a lie, instead of taking control of his life, and future. It was easier for him to play a charade with Diana, and produce two sons with someone he didn't love, and never would grow to love. He took a vow, then lived his life the way he wanted to, regardless of who got hurt along the way. I often wonder what kind of childhood those boys had, especially after losing their mother that way, and ending up under the guidance of the man you knew never loved your mother, and only married her to produce you as an heir.

My family tree shows me directly related to the Plantagenets, and on back in time. It's fascinating history, and I learn more each time I pick up a book about my alleged royal ancestors. I managed to get to England and the rest of the British Isles back in 2006 and 2007, but I knew nothing of my English heritage at the time, only that some of the ancestors on my mother's side of the family came to the U.S. from England between the 1600's and 1700's. One of them left New York State after the Revolutionary War, went to Canada, and married the daughter of a Loyalist. He was written out of his father's Will. That's how my mother ended up being born in Canada. His father was a Lieutenant in the 1st Regiment Dutchess County Militia, and is listed in the DAR Patriot Index. Those ancestors are connected to me via DNA. Unfortunately, the farther you go back, the DNA connection can't be traced, so it's all based on hints from other people's family trees.

The now deceased queen enabled that and more.

Something else Liz has in common with Victoria: her progeny are a menace.

Yep, agree with all.

btw, my family on my dad’s side goes back to Robert the Bruce by marriage, yeah that one in Braveheart. The family estate was bought by Diane’s boyfriend Dodi Fayeds father.

Don’t think we’ll be making any claims to king of Scotland nor reclaim the family land anytime soon, thought. Can’t afford the taxes, nor do I wish to live with a socialist whiners that dominate the politics there.😛

Not sure the old girl is totally to blame. The upper class there is rife with decadence, sloth and undeserved entitlement. Another reason I don’t care much for royalty.

At least in the old days the kings had to lead the army in battle and lop off heads or lose his.

Problem is we have very few refineries in US. In 2022 we had 130. 125 operating and 5 idle. Down from 141 in 2017. Our government refuses to increase more refineries to process our own crude oil. They would rather ship it overseas and make our people pay the high cost of gas.

"btw, my family on my dad’s side goes back to Robert the Bruce by marriage, yeah that one in Braveheart."

Same here. Robert the Bruce is "supposed" to be my 20th great-grandfather through his daughter Maud Bruce who married Thomas Isaac (de Isaac). Edward I (Longshanks) is also "supposed" to be my 20th great-grandfather via his son Edward II who was married to Isabella of France. I've got John of Gaunt (Edward III's son), the Neville, Grenville (Granville), Stafford, Percy, Ferrers, Fiennes families, plus other British aristocratic names in my tree. Can't prove any of it through DNA however, so I take it all with a grain of salt.
