Gavin Newsom Allows Refineries to Produce Winter Blend as Gas Prices Soar
Breitbart ^ | 10/02/2022 | Joel B Pollack

California Gov. Gavin Newsom allowed local refineries to produce their “winter blend” of gasoline a month early in a bid to reduce gas prices, which have soared back to near-record levels even as prices in the rest of the country have slowly fallen from their peak.

The move repeats a similar effort by Gov. Jerry Brown ten years ago, and is an admission that the state’s environmental regulations are partially to blame for the fact that California has higher prices than the rest of the country — more than $2.50 higher, as of today.

A incompetent buffoon. An amoral stooge. An idiot with a winning smile.

The thought that this mental abortion thinks he’s presidential material annoys me to no end.

Wow, it’s sure nice of him to allow private companies to start making certain products. That just goes to show you how kind and considerate a tyrant he is, allowing such things when he didn’t even need to.

We kinda figured that would be the excuse for prices going up a dollar or more in our vicinity. All of ours needs to trucked in or rail car’d in from someplace else. Lowest I see this morning in Reno is $5.04/gal. ⛽😵‍💫

Sometimes I like my gasoline blended. Other times I prefer a single malt gasoline.

This has been going on for decades. Instead of having a rotating refiner maintenance schedule, they let the refiners do it at the same time to hurt the populace. Some would say it is a dumb move by a dumb politician but is more likely done to drive up gas prices intentionally. Newsome should never be able to sniff the White House.

If he ran for president, his campaign slogan ought to be, “I’ll do to the whole country what I did to California.”

I paid $3.94 a gallon for regular gasoline two weeks ago. We live in Washington State; this morning the average price here is $5.29. I suspect our gasoline is being sent to the higher bidders in California. The average price for a gallon in California is $6.37. Driving a larger tanker 10 hours South will make over $10,000 even after you subtract for fuel and the driver. It is a no brainer.

Gas rates always temporarily climb during the switch over to the “winter blend” of gasoline, and they climb again when they switch back.

Californians can also blame Sniffer for gasoline prices approaching European levels.

Just paid $6.99 for regular gas in the San Fernando Valley at a Chevron station but I should have used Gas Buddy i could have gotten it cheaper $6.49 to $6.59 at other brand name stations nearby but I was really low. If id driven further from the freeway at 76 station I could have found it for $6,14 or bought it at off brand weird stations for less. I haven’t seen that large of a spread in a long while.

Chevron is moving its headquarters out of California for Texas too.
