Hollywood action star and former wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson now says he will not be running for president, despite earlier teases of a possible run for office, citing “time with his family” for the decision.
Johnson has been teasing a run for the White House for years. Indeed, back in 2017, he claimed that being president was “within my skill set.” And last year, he was buoyed by a poll that showed he’d be a popular candidate.
Right after the 2021 poll, Johnson claimed he would “humbly and respectfully stand up, listen, and learn” about what it would take to run for president and then sit in the White House as leader of the free world.
“I love our country to my core and I’m endlessly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had here, as a half-Black, half-Samoan kid being able to work my ass off knowing tenacity opens doors,” Johnson said in June of last year. “In a lot of ways, I’m indebted to our great country for it.”
But it looks like the Jumanji star is done listening and learning, because now he says a run for president is out.
“It’s off the table. Yes, it is off the table,” the 50-year-old says in an upcoming interview with CBS Sunday Morning.
Family is the reason, as Johnson added, “I love our country and everyone in it. I also love being a daddy.”

Even if Dwayne J. succeeded in getting enough to take him seriously as a politician, most likely, he would be another Arnold Swartzenegger or Eric Adams, where ones primary motivation is to ‘be liked and approved of’ by the main stream media and the biggest mouthed PC Liberal voices.
That’s the thing about Trump. He didn’t need this, but he did it anyway, because he saw where the country was headed, and wanted to do something about it.
You can question his methods, his personality, but I do not for one second question his sincerity as to why he’s in the arena.

When I first heard of Dwayne Johnson contemplating running for President, I immediately thought of President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho.

This is particularly bitter because we all know that fake wrestlers make excellent government officials. Well, at least Hulk Hogan hasn’t bowed out yet. So there still is hope.
