Another Republican Trump critic heads for the exits (Chris Cillizza weeps)

That Sasse is now preparing to willingly remove himself from the playing field is yet another striking testament to the whole-scale takeover of the Republican Party under Trump.

Of the 17 Republicans – 10 in the House, seven in the Senate – who voted to either impeach or convict Trump last year, no more than six will be returning to Congress in 2023. And several of those remaining Republicans face stiff competition this fall, meaning that number could sink even lower by the time the next Congress rolls around.

Upton, Rice, Herrera-Beutler, Cheney, Kinzinger, Gonzales, Katko, Meijer, Burr, Toomey, and Sasse will be gone already.

Murkowski, Newhouse and Valadao may also be gone after November.

This is not how THEY expected it to play out!

Folks, this is how you reform a political party....by taking it over and eliminating the weak and marginal supporters of the conservative agenda.

Those that want to take their toys and start a new party are the idiots who think their shiny, new party would not be polluted with non-believers.

Sasse is a fraud just like Chuck Hagle,,,,,They both committed FRAUD by using RNC money to get elected and voted with the DEMS without provocation. They should pay the money back.

Good riddance. Sissy Sasse is worthless and weak. He couldn’t wait to get a cushy job like a university president. I’m so sick of the pompous Mitt Romney wing of the RHINO squishes who stabbed Trump in the back.

That number almost certainly WILL sink lower.

Valadeo is in a Democrat +6 district. He’s toast. MAGA Republicans will sit out that election and that’s it for him.

There isn’t much polling in Alaska that is trustworthy but from what I gather, it looks like Murkowski trails despite the Turtle blowing huge amounts of money to try to save her.....from another Republican (Kelly Tshibaka) rather than spending that money on races where Republicans are facing off against Democrats (like Arizona where Blake Masters is matched against gun grabbing China sellout and Schumer rubber stamp, Mark Kelly). That tells you all you need to know about where the RINO Establishment stands.

So Newhouse is the only one likely to win re-election since he’s in a strongly Republican leaning district and he only got out of the primary alive because multiple candidates split the MAGA vote. We’ll have to rectify that in 2 years when we take another run at him.

Pierre Delecto’s term is up in 2024. I am very much looking forward to him not being in the Senate any longer.

The idiot RINO’s still do not yet get it that Trump is the norm and everyone else are the radicals. If you are against our Constitution, whether right wing or left wing you are a radical.

I remember when the Senate Conservatives Fund was begging for money to support ‘conservative’ candidates like Flake and Sasses. What a joke.

I fail to see the downside here.

Partner, I'll agree with you. Sasse is worthless and a weak candidate.

We are also sick of that pompous ass Romney.

Lil Bennie is a nice ending to Trump’s revenge.
But Lil Bennie’s departure says a few things that are music to our ears.
It says the RNSC’s internal polls show what we all know is true, the Schumer and his communist sect will be out of power AND it says that the Turtle probably won’t have the votes to remain Leader.

It’s all good.

Just imagine the Establishment horror after November if your predictions are corect. Of the 17 Impeachment Republicans, 13 were up for reelection this year. Of those, 6 declined to seek reelection, leaving 7 that decided to run for reelection (Murkowski, Rice, Herrera-Beutler, Valadao, Newhouse, Meijer, and Cheney). And of those, only ONE survives to the next congress.

Add Sasse’s resignation and only four remain in the next congress (Romney, Cassidy, Collins and Newhouse).

The Establishment will collectively hold their heads in their hands in despair.
