Dennis "Denny" Doyle, who served as mayor of Beaverton, Ore. from 2009 to 2021, pled guilty in federal court on Tuesday to illegal possession of child pornography. "You know, we make mistakes," Doyle said on his way out of the courtroom.
Several of the images in Doyle's possession were of children under the age of 12. The children in these images had been identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as "known sexually exploited minors."

A “mistake” is forgetting to use your turn signal or wearing white after Labor Day. Having pics of young kids not related to you on your computer is much more serious than a “mistake!”
The openly gay former mayor of Portland had an underage boy living in his house at one time.
As I recall, nothing happened to him, except a lot of bad jokes.

Haha, one time this young guy I always chatted with on MSN sent me - for some reason - some “intimate” style photos. He was really proud of Little Jack, I guess, but he was under 18.
I totally panicked and shut my machine down, deleted MSN messenger (that thing was like spyware anyway; they forced me to use it for work) - I almost wiped the hard drive because I was so worried that I might have the pics in some backup folder somewhere. The guy kept messaging me for several months and I finally talked to him again. I was like “WHY ARE YOU SENDING ME THOSE PICS ARE YOU INSANE?” and he was very apologetic.
That was like a mistake, me saying “sure” when he asked if I wanted some pics of him or not. (I thought they would just be pics of him playing the guitar or something, right?) I fixed it as fast as I could, lol.

Oh, this went way farther back, to the first openly “gay” man in politics, Harvey Milk. He lured a post-pubescent teen to his home to have sex with, and still got an aircraft carrier named for him.

Major of BEAVERTON, voted one of the most livable cities in the country. It is a suburb of Portland. In Washington County not Multnomah County where Portland is located.
Reelected many times, popular....so, you never know what evil lurks behind the curtain.
I think those charges are not deferrable like other low felonies and high misdemeanors are in Western states. I’m pretty sure, he’s high profile enough he will forever be watched to see if he tries to register and submit a ballot.
Don’t forget the very, very worst aspect of Harvey Milk/Dan White case…it propelled Diane Feinstein into a lifetime senate seat. Had that not happened she would never have been elected senator. IMHO.

Maybe the underage boy was identifying as an ADULT... Or the mayor was identifying as an underage boy? We can't judge on what they are?
And just like that, he’s vaulted to the top of the list of demonrat contenders to replace Xiden in 2024.
