A woman walking her dog in Los Angeles was stabbed with a samurai sword and her pet was killed in a seemingly unprovoked attack, police and witnesses said.
A suspect in the stabbing, 23-year-old Eric Herrera, was arrested at the scene in the Mid-Wilshire neighborhood Tuesday night on suspicion of attempted murder, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The police should have finished him when he lunged at the officers. They tazed him instead. Maybe the cops were concerned with losing their jobs or being prosecuted for “murder”.

Using "samurai sword" to describe a blade is like saying "Pontiac" to describe a car. What kind of samurai sword? A katana? A Tashi? A Wakizashi?
A sword like that is not a stabbing weapon. It's a slicer. What a piker.
