Swimming is “wasis?” Wow Somebody is suffering from post-pandemic goofiness syndrome.
If this is true it makes a lot of sense, here in Louisiana black kids drown in disproportionate numbers to whites and I have never figured out why. Same ages, same river or lake, black boys just do seem to sink frequently.
Is this a reference to blacks not having a strong preference for water sports?
Blacks justifiably dominate basketball as a sport. They do pretty darn well in football. These guys are magnificent athletes and are deserving of the praise and financial rewards they receive. If they are not the best at swimming what difference does it make. I really don’t think there is a conspiracy to keep them out of water sports in this country.
Fishing is racist too, especially amongst the big mouth bass boys.

Same with the beaches in predominantly black areas near me. Blacks have lived on the coast all their lives and rarely do more than wading.
I grew up dirt poor so didn’t have a pool but the beach was close and free so I learned to swim very well.
Could be that Africa has very dangerous wildlife lurking in the waters so there is a natural fear of deep water that carried over.
Paying people large sums of money for an ability that has absolutely no intrinsic value is not deserved it is a damning commentary on homo sapiens empty silliness and shriveled sense of values.
So this is the kind of BS we can expect …ugh

I don’t think it’s a skin color thing, I think it is (generally) related to coming from regions where the waters have dangerous (to humans) predators, and over generations, learned behavior becomes instinct.
For example, my wife is a Filipina, and she’s fine in a pool or at the beach if the water is clear and no deeper than her armpits. Beyond that, forget it: She doesn’t even like being on a pond in a canoe with a life jacket on. A fellow in our local Fil-Am group would often say of Philippines: “A country of 1000 islands and nobody knows how to swim!” (Slight exaggeration, but has some truth to it.)
She sounds as race obsessed and paranoid as Michelle Obama.
I know. Those people are deranged. All of them. Just reading that one paragraph.
