Democrat Pennsylvania U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman’s wife, Gisele, recently lamented about the supposed racism that pervades swimming in America.
During a recent interview, Gisele talked about how she and her husband sought to purchase a mansion and use the pool to combat racism in swimming.

True but backs seem to have a basic fear of water. I don’t have any idea why. This is a state with many rivers and deep creeks and bayous and blacks seem to want no part of swimming. Why? Serious question.
Not from lack of access, but rather poor judgement. They drown when they try to swim in a manner beyond their capabilities (e.g., jumping in the deep end when they don't know how to swim).
Well, in one sense she is kind of right, but it’s not just America. The fact is that people of sub-Saharan descent tend to be ‘sinkers’. That is, even with full lungs of air, they tend to sink. This is the sort of thing that discourages swimming since to avoid drowning you have to expend a lot of your energy to keeping your head above water. It has to do with average body density.
This is not to say that black cannot swim, it’s just they find it more difficult and so naturally tend to avoid it.
Are track or basketball racist because more blacks excel at them than whites or hispanics?
If you’ve got the money to buy a mansion just to get the pool, then why not donate the money to the community to build a community pool? It’s preposterous that zoning codes would allow a private pool on a residential zoned lot to be converted to a community pool.

If you do not have access to water to learn to swim you do not have access to water where knowing how to swim would prevent you drowning.
I think that all parents should make sure their kids are trained in drownproofing. It is the same as teaching them to look both ways before crossing a street. Basic safety.
Yes, she’s a moron. Swimmers swimming freestyle events can swim any stroke, but they exclusively swim using the Australian crawl. Damn those racist Australian-Americans.
