LOL - Once in a while I get junk mail from REI Outdoor Supply and they have continuing articles written by lonely, psychotic, virtue signaling white women staff jornos lamenting the apparent fact that blacks and other “marginalized groups” are fearful of participating in outdoor activities due to fear of violence committed against them and their families by the “overwhelming number” of whites enjoying (and paying the fees) to use the nation’s national parks.

It’s pretty unbelievable that corporate editors greenlight these offensive articles for publication. Of course there is not a single piece of evidence presented by the authors that in any way, shape or form is presented to substantiate these wild claims. That’s ok though. Let’s just make shit up.

I remember Navy Boot Camp and the day we all get thrown in the pool to see if we would survive 5 minutes in a perfectly calm, 86 degree swimming pool. All the urban blacks in our company went straight to the bottom so the only thing to do instead of teaching them to swim was strap them up in Kapok jackets and let them float around for a while.

Back in the mid-‘60s I worked as a teen-aged life guard at a Summer camp for black inner city kids. The first thing we would do is assemble all of them together and ask who could swim. Everyone raised their hands. Then we would have each of them try to swim from one end of the pool to the other while I walked along the deck beside them with a long, thick bamboo pole. No one, not one, made it even halfway, and I was routinely fishing them out one after the other. One common strategy was start the swim at a run leaping off the deck in an effort to gain enough momentum to somehow glide to the other end.
