Russia is a land of sunshine, rainbows, cute fuzzy bunnies and frolicing children with lemondrop smiles.
It is not formerly and historically recently responsible for the Soviet Union's occupation and rule over almost all of the countries in earth-tone colors on the map below, or anything like that. So why would those mean, imperialistic, aggressive countries (pst, "iron curtain" anyone) want to join a protective alliance?
