I like that part. Traditional conservatives are what has allowed the Left to dominate the debate and win battle after battle for the past 30 years. Ever since the Bush family started dominating Republican politics in the 1990s, the Left started advancing and Republicans went along and said there was no way to advance actual conservative policies. Other than getting the country involved in endless wars, which some claimed was "conservative".

Geeze, say a word against the invasions of Iraq or Afghanistan around here in the early 2000s and you’d get pilloried as a jihad-loving extremist. “Conservatives” have been just as war hungry as ‘liberals’ for longer than any of us have been alive. There are *lots* of things to hate the Left on, but that one has four fingers pointing back. That was the real break Trump made; there was a LOT of jingoistic cheering for both wars against Iraq and what we did in Afghanistan.
When the AP says “traditional conservatives”, they’re talking about left-wing Uniparty RINOs.
