Maybe there is more to the story, like gay sex before the hammer was used.
Maybe a lover spat. Maybe Paul P did not pay him what was agreed upon.
If it was consensual sex and he was attacked by Pelosi first then he's not guilty.
Sadly the officers too shall commit suicide.

And the Waukesha Massacre, Aaron Danielson, Lee Kelton, 5 officers in Dallas, 4 in Baton Rouge, how many, unamed in the “fiery, but peaceful Summer of Love riots...er I mean “racial justice protests”.
Also District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said in this NY Post article that there was no security at the home at the time of the break-in. That's highly unlikely, although it's possible that Pelosi told them to leave because he had planned a trist and didn't want any witnesses. Were the estate cameras turned on, or were they turned off? Any activity with the cameras being turned off or on, would more than likely be recorded by the computers, so someone will have to answer why the cameras weren't functioning if that's the excuse the Pelosi are planning on using. And if they weren't functioning, why were they? And if there was no physical security on site, who was the third person in the house mentioned by the media? And why are they now saying there was no third person at all? Just like there was no one on the car with Pelosi the night he drove drunk and blew a stop sign.
David DePape charged with attempted murder for hammer attack on Paul Pelosi
This CNBC article gives a detailed description of how it allegedly went down based on comments by DePape during his interview with the police. He told them that he was going to use the zip ties on Pelosi so he “could go to sleep as he was tired from having to carry a backpack to the Pelosi residence.”
This is the first time that a backpack has been mentioned, so where is the backpack? And where are DePape's pants? Did they bother to ask him why he went to the Pelosi residence in his underwear? And now the Federal charges specifically say he was wearing shorts. So what happened to the underwear scenario?
Of course we know that it all depends on who the alleged victim is, and who they're married to:
I'm thinking the police said something that triggered him to attack. They didn't expect the attack.
Nothing about this case makes sense.

It took me a while to figure it out, but T.J. Miller will portray David DePape in the movie.
It is really easy for this whole incident/scandal to go down a rabbit hole-and I’ll just bet that is what happens-De Pape’s ex, neighbors, etc are all saying he is is a drug-fueled loon, plus he is a Canadian who is here illegally with an expired visa-he will be charged, then deported-whisked off to Canada, leaving only speculation and salacious theories...
Another speculation, which I haven't read anywhere and for which I lack specific data, would be this was a failed lame attempt to Jussie up an October surprise with DePape taking the Nigerian brother's role, but proving to be too crazy to stick to the script and actually hammered the designed fake victim instead of faking and missing. Thus the quick first reports that Pelosi would be fine. The pre-prepared lies still worked so were still used after a real attack. As a side twist might Paul have been pushed into this by deep party as a payback for some needed coverup on his DUI. The same kind of push as had Harry Reid keep pleading rubber band failure. To repeat this is pure, unsupported, speculation.
The obvious kinds of evidence, which should have existed at least until the cleaners had time to work, should have narrowed the options quickly but will vanish or stay hidden for a long time. Cf. Seth Rich, Epstein, Hunter. Some data might come out of Capital Police if the Speaker changes. But don't expect information via Speaker McCarthy. If we can replace Pelosi AND the GOP leadership some answers might be squeezed out by the new bosses of the Capital Police. About this, Jan 6th, etc. But if Paul's security, when Nancy isn't there, is purely private capturing the speakership gains no answers.

Only if he has a competent attorney. Likely he will have a court appointed attorney with little experience and no resources up against the DOJ and the state of California. Plus a judge who is part of the San Francisco establishment who will rule on any requests for evidence. He has as much chance of his due process rights being honored as the January 6 defendants who have been in jail without bail for 2 years.

This makes me wonder if the Pelosi family did something to this gent at some time in the past that contributed to his mental condition. Was he abused by them?
Of course, we will never see evidence of that kind, true or not.
