Actually, I now realize the trademark was merely "registered" on October 3.

But trademark and patents are not like copyrights. Mere registration doesn't grant any rights. I think registering a trademark only begins the review process, which can take a year or more, and can be dismissed for any number of reasons.

Any Intellectual Property attorneys here?

This link explains the process. You are right this application was filed as “intent to do commerce”. I believe these statements by the registrants will kill this application very early.
